Like all of you guys, i asked for free credit record from VEDA yesterday and already received 2 phone calls trying to sell me credit score at $99!!! what sort of bastards are these f*ckers! trying to make money on people's misery....shame! i will be reporting these arsewoles.

Got a missed call from this number today. Thank you to everyone for saying who it was. They didn't leave a message. I don't answer numbers I don't know. I figure if they want me to return call they will leave a message. I too applied for a credit check through VEDA yesterday and checked contact via e-mail only. I'll wait and see if e-mail comes on my report before I call them back if they can't be bothered leaving a message.

I also requested the FREE credit report from Veda, so glad I didn't answer the call. Also by law they have to provide the free report once per year, so why would I pay for a "faster" report? Even opted out of marketing, this should be illegal!!!

This number has been repeatedly calling me and when I answer, there is no one of the other end and they just hang up. I applied for my free credit report through VEDA last week so suspect they are calling to upsell. Disappointing as access to your credit report is a legal right and I only went through VEDA after clicking a link on the Government's Money Smart website.

I wish I searched the number before taking the call. I too applied for my free credit rating and they called me. The woman was so pushy and wouldn't take no formal answer and kept telling me the free report won't give me the answers I'm looking for. She was so rude and trying so hard to force me to pay for the premium check, I asked her to please cancel my request for the free credit rating check. A bit concerning considering they have all of my personal info. Not only that she didn't ask one question to verify my identity!

I also applied for a free credit check with Veda and received a hang up call from (03) 8256 6715. I'm not happy about this as I don't know if they are checking to see if someone is home or not. It's a privacy and security breach and should be illegal.

I applied for a the free credit report yesterday with Veda, the people who called me just prior to me leaving this report. Anyway, I've just received a phone call today from (03) 8256 6715, I answered, no response from anyone, then they hung up.

Veda, they're trying to upsell after ordering the free credit report

I understand that we don't exactly live in an environment where anything is truly 'free' anymore, but I also don't agree with marketing and sales calls STILL being pushed when you've opted out.

My partner and I both applied for Veda reports. Both got a call with no message.

same same.. applied for Veda free credit report yesterday, left phone contact unchecked (and email checked). Still got the call today. All I do is that I have my phone on silent. They call, they won't get answer, and I search their number in the internet. Nearly all my contacts are Junk, and the real calls are the ones I already expect.

No surprises that VEDA are STILL out pedalling personal information to all and sundry. Applied for credit report just recently that had given a very specific credit ranking, and the report contained JACK. But have had a spam call everyday since they sent me the official report containing NARDA. Obviously the letters to senators last year did nothing - maybe Derryn is the ticket????

Thanks for the info on here. I too applied for a "free" credit check via Veda and got one of these calls a couple of hours later. We need more consumer protection in this country to stop our infomation being misused. Lobby your local member.

Are you kidding me!!! This has to be illegal. It's not like any of us have provided our numbers to some frivolous home shopping network. This is highly sensitive information we have provided to VEDA and they have provided it to god knows who!! This has to be illegal!!
