How do they get our mobile number? Have been receiving such calls lately.

Again, thanks to the website and those who post on it. I didn't answer the number - just checked here, blocked it and moved on...

*Sigh* Three phone calls in 3 days from similar numbers.
Cannot for the life of me think what website I have recently signed up to for them to sell my phone number. Haven't had this issue previously.
As always, if you are not expecting a call and you don't know the number - do not answer. If they don't leave a voice mail it is obviously not important or possibly not legitimate.

Answered number person dropped out, called back and they answered with my name. asked for a few minutes of my time, my reply was "as long as your not selling anything" straight away tried seeling live and income insurance, after a few more questions I said "no thankyou happy where we are" they hung up on me. Rang back on land line and gave them a piece of my mind, that person had the Gaul to ask for my mobile number. DONT ANSWER THESE CALLS BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK .

Received a call from (03) 8001 8002. Answered and the lady said she was calling from an insurance company. When I told her I wasn't interested in purchasing anything she told me she wasn't trying to sell me anything. She then asked me she could ask me a question, to which I replied "yes" she then went quiet for about 10 seconds before I hung up. Definitely dodgy and it was very noisy in the background.

Odd, but I went to the iSelect website and filled in my details about an NBN plan last week. You have to provide your mobile number. Now I get several calls a day and its annoying. I've learnt not to answer the phone and they never leave a message.

Every day my mobile goes off with some dodgy number all trying to sell me something. I never answer it and then block it. This is the 5th number blocked and tomorrow I will see where they try from next time. Losers

Just received a call from this number (which I didn't pick up), and received another call from (02) 8417 5013 yesterday. Voicemails were left on both occasions, with the caller speaking as though I had picked up (and one caller knew my full name!).
I NEVER pick up numbers which I don't recognise, especially when it's from a different state. I always Google the number after and this site has saved me on numerous occasions!
An interesting thing to note - I haven't had nuisance calls in ages but have just started receiving these after expressing interest in Qantas Assure (health and travel insurance). I'd be really peeved off if they were selling my details on!
