Caller: FedEx impersonation scam

THIS IS A SCAM. Do not respond to the caller, do not engage.

Recently ordered a product from a known US/UK retailer mpb.com. They sent the package with tracking number and invoice. 2 days later, I receive text message from 'Fedex-Exp' with the following (non reply) message:
"Fedex Tracking# [correct tracking number] requires your ITEMIZED COMMERCIAL/SUPPLIER'S INVOICE for Customs Clearance.
Please email paperwork to 5545113 @ fedex.com and aucdndoc @ fedex.com with the tracking number as subject to avoid return or call us at 1800 111 112 opt2
Thank you."

This number does not match what is on FedEx's website support page, and the emails seemed too random to be official. Reverse search on the phone number showed 50/50 split on people calling it scam, so I didn't do anything. Notably the tracking number was the exact same which threw me off for a second, but the supplier's invoice is something you only complete if you are SENDING an item, not RECEIVING. The package being delayed for transfer and the matching tracking number almost got me to respond, but after waiting a day the package was moving again, and was going to Alaska, then China, then Singapore as of right now (2 days later).

What confirmed my suspicions was a follow up call from Melbourne (could be spoofed?) from this random number which said the same as the text message only including that my package was from mpb.com. Seems this is very common, but wasn't blocked by my messages as spam.

Do not engage with these scammers, it just marks your phone number, email as active for them. If you have any doubts over scam calls, go to the actual website and not the phone numbers or links provided in the suspect text messages. I would also be emailing the actual fedex support website to notify them that they have system leaks or exposure of customer data which allows these scammers to try and steal your parcels and money.

They said they were FedEx and there was a custom charge of $260 on my order.
I had just ordered a package from a Chinese company, I have ordered from this particular company before and received my package no issues so I took it as a scam.
They also pronounced my state wrong so they talk just like their emails.

Pretended to be FedEx and had details of a prior purchase I had made from a US company. Wanted payment for a new shipment i am expecting - payment for delivery that I have already made as part of the purchase! Scary!

Caller: Supposedly from FedEx

I ordered a product, which was being shipped from FedEx Hong Kong. In the past two weeks I have received text messages, emails and today, a phone call asking me to pay duty on my order within 5 days otherwise it will be returned to the supplier. Something seemed fishy from the start. The good thing was that there was a problem with the order anyway, so the supplier was recalling the shipment. If it was legit they wouldn’t keep trying to get me pay.

I recently placed an order with a company. Today, I received a suspicious call from this number, claiming they were from Fedex and wanted more personal information - which I did not provide. They had my phone number, address and the product I had recently ordered from a company. Very worrying!

Caller: Supposedly Fedex, but not

Phone call happened at noon on Easter Friday EST Sydney. Seeing the previous comments on this site, it is even more clear that it is a scammer. I wavered momentarily but didn't fall into the trap.
The reason I wavered was because she had not only the tracking number of my eBay parcel -- coming from Japan to Australia -- but SHE KNEW THE CONTENTS!!!
So somehow they have hacked into the transaction details!! That's bit -- a LOT -- scary. It's not at all apparent whether they hacked into eBay itself, or at the seller's end or at my end, which makes it even scarier.

The day before I received an SMS message, which I ignored, with all the scam details, with an 'íf you need to discuss the issue ring '1800 111 112' So they also knew my phone number.

The person on the line pretended to be directly from FedEx service. She introduced her as Jeanne Lee. Demanded personal details over the phone. When asked to provide proof of being genuine FedEx service she sent me an email from this address: 3974275 @ fedex.com which is fraudulent and false. Do not give your personal details over the phone to anyone.
