Caller: Bupa
When I answered they were silent, then hung up. I called back the number and it was Bupa customer care (hold) line. I hung up.
I have recently changed to Medibank who are dealing with the transfer on my behalf. Bupa have since been sending me text messages trying to get me to call them to explain my cancellation. Recently, without any interaction or consent from me, they emailed me a bill for a "new" premium policy to be paid quarterly, and due in two weeks, and threatened that my coverage would stop if I didn't pay. Strange given that I've already transferred to Medibank! I thought this was highly unethical and I reported it to the Government Ombudsman who is following up the issue.

Caller: Believed to be Bupa
On 14 January 2019, I transferred my health insurance to another company having been a member of Bupa (and previously MBF) since 1987.
Since this date, I have now received one phone call after another with no messages left on any of them. I have also received separate sms messages urging me to contact them to 'discuss' my account.
I am advised by my new health insurance company that when I joined them they would automatically port my membership across, and cancel my Bupa membership. There was nothing more I needed to do. I was warned that Bupa my try contact me and retain my membership.
Having basically never heart from Bupa over the past 30 years, it's strange that they are now interested in my membership. Too little, too late.
I love caller number display and messagebank.
If a company cannot be bothered to leave a message, don't expect me to answer or call back. Bye Bye Bupa.

When I answered they were silent, then put me on hold music. after reading the comments here its safe to say its Bupa give i recently changed from them to another provider. I hung up.
I have recently changed to HCF who are dealing with the transfer on my behalf. Strange given that I've already transferred to HCF! I mean the audacity of them trying to sign me up for another policy without my consent and given i have already moved on to a new provider.
I thought this was highly unethical and I'll be reporting them to the ombudsman.

Caller: claimed to be bupa
called me (after initially texting) to discuss my recent "cancellation" of bupa cover, except i hadn't cancelled anything. they asked for personal info to confirm my id, i refused and said i would contact bupa to follow up and they gave me a 1800 number which was different to the 1800 number on the bupa website which i used. i was informed that no traffic had occurred on my account, no one from bupa had contacted me and i should block the number. they are still calling every second day. very weird and totally suspect. then again, bupa? scammers? what's the diff?

Caller: BUPA?
Just like the comments above, I cancelled my policy after 30+ years of being with BUPA. They kept putting their premiums up and up. I decided to take my business elsewhere and save $100 a month plus 6 weeks free (November bonus for signing up).
Now suddenly BUPA care! Persistent phone calls and messages. I also received one of their very misleading looking invoices to pay (nice try but I don't think so BUPA). Very disappointed with a company I had previously shown a great deal of loyalty to.

Caller: Bupa Customer Care, I believe
Recently switched insur provider. Keep getting calls &/or txt. I monitor calls & pickup only if I kno it's legit. My Msg Bank very directly tells any caller to leave msg or very likely I will not ring back. Going to block now - every tiny bit of time wasted check'g Caller id adds up.

Caller: Bupa - apparently
Keeps calling - leaves no message. I've cancelled my policy with them and it seems this is now reason to stalk me. I've not had as many emails for phone calls from them in the entire 10 years I've been with them. Only to tell me my policy was going up in cost or decreasing in services.

If this is Bupa, why on earth would they not leave a voicemail? I refuse to believe it's important if they don't do this.

A number called me claiming to be BUPA and asked to give them my personal information including date of birth, address, full name, etc! Told them I did not provide them with my details, then they got rude and told me to call 1800 819 092 to discuss some urgent matter regarding my cover! Could not find this number on their website! Also left them recently, so it might be them, but their approach is plain stupid by calling you from some random number and asking you for your personal details...
Never going back to this dodgy insurance

Same as all the above comments, After 30+ years with BUPA, ( previous MBF), never have I received a phone call from them.... Soon as you decide to move to another Heath Provider they want to contact you... It's a shame they can't take an interest in you when you are a customer.
They are not leaving a message, so I wont reply to them...

Must be BUPA. Like the rest of you, I have recently switched providers and they are trying to drag me back. I note that in the paperwork for transferring to the other provider, the letter to BUPA specifically requests them to not contact me regarding this, but I guess they don’t read that bit.

This is Bupa trying to retain my membership after cancelling. Very annoying, particularly when they call you and then ask you to go through their privacy screening. Probably better to ignore the calls if you know your new health fund has already requested the transfer certificate.
