Purport to be from ATO and advise they are about to seize your assets and arrest you for tax fraud. Very aggressive. Want you to pay cash into western union. Voice mail was from Nicki Johnson, return call answered by Michael Johnson with supervisor Kevin Petersen. I called ATO while stalling on the other phone. Ph 13 11 42 (ATO) and give your tax file number to people in accounts area if you want to confirm you have no outstanding amounts. It's a definite scam and ATO are aware and actioning, but please report incidents to the ATO. I used the 131142 number. Concerning is call to my mobile came from 1300 720 092, with is ATO publications.

This number rang today,didn’t answer but googled it. Messages are from 5-6 years ago but looks like they’re back again

Same happened to me. Total scam, as confirmed by the ATO. Pile of Indians on the phone.

Received the same call four times so far. I know it's a scam and treat it as such, but the really sad part is that we have law enforcement agencies who, despite having the ability to trace these numbers and lay charges simply aren't interested.

This is a serious scam. I have just called the ATO on 131 142 The ATI won't leave an automated message. The person on the end of this scan is Mr Ken Walker. They will call numerous times, claim your licence, passport have been cancelled and that the police will come around and arrest you. This is a scam. Do not give them your details. Person on the end of the line is of Indian Descent. They are probably fishing for details. I think I only gave them my name and phone number and didn't get any further then that. Thank god I don't think I gave them my date of birth or address.

Had the same call twice this week. Same names from another number month ago (02) 8014 9422. Reported it to ATO. Takes for ever with ATO. At least I got thru to these scammers to talk. USA accents. Unloaded on one of the 'supervisors'. It was a slanging match on the phone between us. At least I got the satisfaction of saying something.

Verify the legitimacy of a communication
You can check on any communication that you aren’t sure about, or report a phone scam, by phoning us on 13 28 61.
Its a lengthy process but any officer of the ATO will not threaten legal action as a voice recorded message through a third party phone line.

Received a call from this number saying same Sh@#t police and fraud and call back... i added them in my auto reject number list.

A land line number easily traced. Called AFP fobbed off to a recording of scamline. As usual with AFP not a headline event, not interested.

This is a scam. If they call hang up and get your service provider to block their number.

They called a family member saying they were Mark Vitor from the ATO demanding payment into an ANZ bank account for money owed to the tax office.
They were very aggressive and threatened with jail and said the police were on the way to pick them up.

I keep getting this caller over and over, wish they would go away, I just leave it to my answering machine now.

I recieved 4 calls to my mobile on Friday 11 Sept and one today . I don't answer them . One call left a message saying " I need you or your lawyer to return my call . The issue at hand is extremely urgent " ....What a load of !!

A computer generated voice left a message claiming to be Nicky / Nikki Johnson from the Australian Tax Office, asking to be called back about something that is "extremely time sensitive". This was one day after receiving almost the same message but in a more american computer voice that leaves out the "2" in the above number twice.
