I am receiving text messages saying kings langly video store has closed down and I owe money , I got worried it would affect my credit score so I rang he said he was busy and asked for my name I gave my name he rang back and left a message must be a scam

i keep getting the same messages they say there legal and commercial never replyed as i know i have no outstanding accounts

Oh yes, it's a scam. Debt collectors don't send texts. Lol

Been bombarded with texts saying I owe money... has to be a scam, no company would be this unprofessional!!

I'm getting the same things... I'm fairly suspicious; it's just possible I might have a small fine, but the SMS messages started with advertising the shut down and then moved on to threatening collection notices, but with no mention of details such as amount owing.

Since it started with advertising, and since then has been automated text messages, I'm assuming it *is* a scam - if it were real I would expect either the original business or the collection agency to actually ring me; especially since they are required legally to identify you before disclosing that there is a debt...

Have received two of these text messages and I'm relieved to find this site and to learn that they are scammers.

just got a text msg of this number saying i owe money for dvd rentals.. i havent rented out a dvd in year's ! total scam

So, I randomly get this:

"Network Video Kings Langley have closed. For your outstanding balance please call appointed collectors Legal and Commercial on (03) 5964 2474. Ref #1535388"

So I google Kings Langley... It's in NSW... I live in SA, always have.

I called the number, but got that they were busy. My number is 5 weeks old

yes its a scam they said a owe $44 on unpaid dvd rentals I don't have any rentals I owe he did not even know or have info about fines

Yes they are a scam, the phone number is only a few days old. They are obviously "scraping" newly registered numbers. They are pretty smart with the SMS name coming through as 'Escalated' instead of a phone number - they know what they are doing. Beware. Also they got my name wrong, how insulting!

They always TXT never call.

just received this sms saying they now hold our account .. a Kayde Bradley of the Escalation Team and call Legal & Commercial. We've just bought this sim card two days ago and haven't even given out our number.. is this a scam or what???

These are the same people as (03) 9752 6229
