Call came from Michael Anderson ATO and I have been reported for tax evasion. Threatening legal action etc. as above. Probable scam, will phone ATO to check.

Also received a call saying tax issue. I rung it back, they asked for my number, I gave them incorrect. He then told me I was a liar mother f***er. Haha!

Same story as above. Called my wife's mobile. She called back. Can't reach the caller, just an automated message. However, as an accountant I am pretty confident she has no tax debts. Also, the ATO don't randomly call taxpayers about this stuff, they write to them.

Same thing just happened to me but I was smart enough to hand up quickly. Its a recorded automatic voice message.

Michael Anderson from ATO - calling about Tax Evasion - What a load of rubbish - i have not evaded any tax and have had no correspondence from ATO just this phone call.
I tried to call back and got a message bank that was full and could not take any more messages - i am sure it is a big scam

My mother received a phone call from this number. Could tell it was fake the moment she told about it. Called the ATO and they confirmed that it was fake.
The man had a strong Indian accent and threatened to take legal action. He kept asking my mum for her lawyers phone number, at that point she told him she would call him back. However when I tried to call him and give him a piece of my mind he wouldn't answer the phone.
Do not under any circumstances give this man any personal details.

Claimed to be from ATO and that I would go to gaol!!! when I repeatedly questioned him (Michael Anderson) - hung up. Sounded Indian - total f***ing scam artists.

I also received a voicemail from this number claiming that there is a taxation complaint against my name and they are taking me to the Commonwealth Court. Indian mans voice, claiming his name is Michael Anderson, stating "Do not disregard this call" and a whole lot of other bullsh*t. Such a joke!

I just got a call from this number.
He used the name Michael Anderson.
Talking about tax debts, warrants and commonwealth. etc.

Had one from a michael Anderson also today. Scam scam scam!!!

They are scam so please report ATO or NSW police, mine was Michael Anderson and ask me to call me back, that was horrible I was shocked for 5 mins.

This is a scam, dont listen and say anything when this recorded person is talking about tax fraud or fines, they scammers will use your voice to unlock bank accounts.

I got a call today and i hang up ASAP.

Just recieved a message from this number stating I was going to receive a warrant for tax avoidance! They did not leave my name in the message and upon calling back it just rings out or a oriental female voice just saying leave your details, no indication that it is tha ATO. Beware, it tax time so lots of scammers around!

Scammer claiming to be from the ATO saying they received a complaint of tax evasion. Absolute scumbag scammer, Indian accent male.

I had "Michael Anderson" also call from the ATO to advise they were about to take legal action on my tax avoidance & evasion! Does sound like a recorded message & interesting eastern European accent for someone called Michael Anderson. Won't be calling back.

Got a threatening message from a Micheal Anderson about an ATO warrant if I didn't call back! Am certainly not caling back - what a scam - they really think we are idiots?

Had a call from this number and an Indian sounding man who said his name was Michael Anderson claimed he was calling from the ATO and that I owed a large sum of money. He threatened me telling me that they had a warrant out for my arrest and that if I didn't clear the debt the police would soon be at my house to arrest me. I hung up on him and called the real ATO to have them verify that is was in fact a scam call. I worry for the elderly and vulnerable that may fall for the scare tactics that these scumbags use.
