They ring at least twice every day and just hang up! So annoying

Caller: The NBN scam.

These parasites call me daily using different phone numbers. They "claim" to represent NBN with threats we will be cut off (NDN isn't yet available). I went along with the gag & was connected to an obviously Asian call centre. When I told them they were scammers the Asian woman started making childish noises. They then called back again as revenge then hung up when I answered.
HOW to stop these dregs?

I rang the number back, it is a private number that has been hacked by scammers. I did not abuse the bloke as I knew that it was a scam using a hacked number. The NBN should explain to the Australian public how a supposedly secure telecommunications system can be hacked. The message is that do not abuse the person that answers the phone as this is out of their control. Maybe the best thing to do is put pressure on NBN to ensure that telephones are secure.

Rang July 25 @ 12.02 pm - hung up as soon as answer machine picked up the call. 14 minutes after a private number call.

Call at least twice a day - must know that NBN is being installed around the area - wish some Government department would take them to court. Chances though

They claim to be an intermediary Tech for Telstra saying my internet connection will be terminated in 24 hours because it causes disruptions to the Telstra Network. They want you to download Remote Access Software for FREE - what a hogwash.

Answered a call from this number and they immediately hung up in my ear. Who are these pests?
