Scammer hang up he says he is from Bendigo Bank. Don't believe him.

English accent, knew my suburb and name. Tried to say I had suspicious transactions to a Bendigo bank account.
Pretty sure they got this information from the Optus hack, my details have been changed since.
Fishing for information, hung up when I caught him out on a lie.
Found out enough to know all he had was my old details.

Be weary if you get a call identifying it’s origin as Bendigo, phone number (03) 5445 0666. The person identified himself as Nigel with a British accent said there has been fraudulent transactions being done undertaken and aroused suspicion within the bank. He was stating some very obscure details of transfers and purchases, this made me start to think why is he asking me to confirm these transactions when the dollar value exceeded my balance. I also thought it strange he would want me to confirm transactions I had undertaken and kept asking me to confirm balances. What really made me suspicious, as when he would state the balances in pounds and pence, very strange as we utilise dollars and cents. Be extremely aware if you get a call from this number and the caller says he is from Bendigo Bank Security, just hang up straight or say, I will follow this up with my local branch and hang up, or if gets pissed he will terminate the call.

About 20 missed calls in the space of 5 mins from this number. I’m glad I looked it up and identified that it’s a scammer.

Looks like this guy has been going for years. British accent pretending to be from Up Bank, calling about suspicious transactions on the account. Very convincing as they had my name, card details and address. Tried to register their phone on my account through the recovery code. Don't believe him.
FYI Up Bank will only contact you through the app, never call you.

Pommy guy, called himself Sebastian from the Bendigo Bank. As with others, I caught him on the lie and he hung up.

Claims to be from heritage bank regarding fraudulent transactions. Very convincing

Caller: Said his name Michael Smith supposedly Bendigo Bank fraud department

Cockney accent. Said he was from BB Fraud Department my account had been accessed in NZ and they had stopped two transactions, one from Amazon, this was serious and I needed to work with him to protect my funds. Eventually asked for balances of accounts. Said to him he should be able to see them. He replied security didn't allow that (first warning sign). He said he would be cancelling my card immediately to protect the account but I could use it until the new card arrived in a couple of days (second major warning. Gave him no account numbers. When I called him out and said I was reporting him to Interpol, Bendigo Bank and others his friendship turned sour for some reason and he told me to go "Fug" myself or something like it.

Caller: Person claiming to be Jessica Holloway from Bendigo Bank Fraud team

Person called claiming to be from Bendigo Bank Fraud and said my card had been identified as high risk. Scarily, she already had my physical address and wanted me to confirm my date of birth to ensure they could place a stop on "scam" transactions. They texted a link purporting to verify their number as Bendio Bank, and asked me to google the number. As soon as I said I would call the bank myself, they hung up.

Same thing just happened to me. Insisted I click on a text message (sent from a mobile number) and started to get quite rude to me when I said I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that. When I said I'm already logged in so shouldn't I just change my password? He went silent and then hung up!

Caller Id showed call originating in Bendigo. I ignored first call, then he rang back again. Said my account was subject to a suspect transaction and asked if it was me that generated transaction. He was quite convincing and spoke in a clear Aussie accent. He wanted me to confirm account information, but when I said I would contact bank to verify his call, the line went silent immediately. A scam, take care.

Caller claimed to be from Bendigo Bank, asking questions about my accounts, balances, my last 2 transactions and if i had any other saving account with Bendigo bank.I felt suspicious when he asked me for the balance in the other savings accounts that i have got. He asked me to look for the number he is calling me from against the contact number on my ATM card and when i said it wasn't the same number he asked me to google the number which shows it belongs to bendigo Bank in a very shady website and as a contact for some shady ATM in NSW.

Please be careful. Its a scam call.

Scammer rang and new my old card details. Very convincing and appeared to have my best interest at heart. Told them I wasnt in front of my computer and he said he would call me back at a time that suited me. I rang the number and it goes to a message that is copied from the Bendigo Bank 1300 number. Be very careful!
