Should have been a detective! Call Multi Direct Free Call: 1800 812 228 and get your number removed pronto. As I am on the *do not call* register,* the threat of a $250,000 fine helped. Alot!!!

When you call back this number it says 'a disconnected number'. Suspect it is an overseas caller. Ring 1800 numb for multi direct and get your number taken off list. We need to send a message to australian charities to use australian workers!!

Thank you for the tip. I called the 1800 number and had both my landline and cell phone numbers removed off their lists. The lady was Australian and very very nice to deal with.

Rang me right on evening meal preparation time. Didn't get to answer it but the caller id showed the above phone number. No message. I'm on the "Do Not Call" register as well but aren't charities exempt? Stands to reason the charity ploy is used.

Had a call showing a local number but suspect that it was an overseas caller claiming to be raising funds for sick children from Multi Direct. Reckon it was dodgy.

Received call today at midday and last night. Claim to be from "Multi Direct" calling on behalf of some charity for children with heart disease. This was not an Aussie caller - in spite of the 03 prefix, this is not a VIC/TAS number. Woman on the other end had a strong Philippines accent. Lots of background noise. VOIP call for sure. Told her I has no money, and no money for charities, then I hung up. Dodgy as...
