This number is an auto-dialler that checks to see if someone answers then immediately hangs up. It will probably add you to a list for marketing and survey purposes or will add your address to a list of targets for criminal activity such as burglary or identity fraud.

Just answered this call. The usual "Telstra technical department" scam call.

They were pretending they were from Telstra and saying that my computer was downloading malware (I wasn't using my computer). I challenged them by asking them what my account number was. They hung up.

Some guy rang saying he was from Telstra Technical Dept re my internet connection. I told him I couldn't understand a word he was saying and asked if he was speaking English? He repeated himself a couple of times and I persisted that he wasn't making sense to me! HE hung up. I'm going to use that again in future... It was a brief respite in a busy day. THEN he rang back and was very voluble in a foreign language and I told him that now he was making sense but he could direct his abuse to himself, and I hung up!

They are calling at least 2 times a day and leave no message. I used this site and see that I am right to not answer. I wish there was a way to shut these people down. We have tried, we don't have a computer and also not with Telstra but to no avail. Once I told them their call was illegal and they hung up on me and left me alone for a while but they are back using a different number! I have been warned under no circumstances to give them any information which I don't but will be telling them again, if I choose to answer that their call is illegal

I got called a b*tch too! I was actually told "b*tch fu*k off" when I pretended to go along with it and then lied and said I got a pop up from the Australian Government warning it was a scam and they were tracing the call back to them as we speak" - idiots.

Another Spam number from "Telstra technical", your internet will be disconnected. Short delay from answering call to reroute to overseas call centre.

I got this one today. I've heard all about this but never received one so when I finally did I had a plan. They pretended to be from Telstra and the usual computer downloading malware nonsense so I decided to play along. I pretended to do everything they say by pretending to type in everything they asked and when they asked me to tell them what was on the screen I said "there is a pop up from the Australian Government warning that this is a scam caller and the call I am on is being traced back to where you are". She immediately said "bitch fu*k off" to me twice and then I hung up. I regret not responding to her in the same manner!

Same thing - I don't answer unknown number calls and no message was left. They rang twice a day for four days so I knew it was going to be a scam job. Had a bit of fun with the guy, agreeing that my router was sending out all this stuff and asking what was the problem with than and so on then said "Your parents would be ashamed to know you are a thief" and hung up. Call them thieves as it seems to really upset them.

Just had the usual fake Telstra call telling me my internet was about to be disconnected. I gave him some suggested locations for his phone. He seemed to not be very appreciative of my feedback and hung up. Shame

Just got a call from Telstra Technical Department saying my computer had been hacked... clearly it was a scam attempting to obtain my IP (computer address). They said their name was Kevin Brown (with Indian Accent). He was very persistent. We just wasted his time by playing ignorant - but of course not obliging. BEWARE EVERYONE! Ps. they have telephoned 4 times in the last hour
