He said he wanted to update the records and asked for specific persons and surnames and if they’re still working here etc and also asked to give him the name of another person who is working in a similar position. What a waste of time! They just keep calling to get a person’s name each time they call. Pls don’t give them any info!

They called me a few times today (16/08/2012), and when I tell them I know who they are, and that they have called already today from the number on my phone system, they hang up.

Each time I am called from this number, the caller stays silent then hangs up. Is this how they get their jollies?

Today, they called immediately on my landline. I begged the caller to please speak. "Why do you always hang up?" I asked

"I thought you were a telephone answering machine" she added.

Cue top of my head coming off...

Whoever writes the sales script mateys, sack them. Suggesting the prospect has the charisma of an outgoing message on a telephone answering machine makes your chances of persuading me to anything just that little bit harder..

I just took a call at work from a random loser from this company who announced himself in garbled English as blah blah blah (he read like his a.. was on fire) from Acor or Accor.  It's a spamming telemarketing company.  He then began reeling off a list of staff members and asked if they all still worked here and I just hung up.  He called again and was silent and hung up on me (possibly thinking I don't have caller ID, which I do) so I called their company and of course you get a recorded message asking you to press either 1 or 2 so I did and it timed out.  Convenient that they can harrass people but we cannot give them a serve of their own medicine.

Amen to that. . . I hate Indian Call Centres completely. . . Every day I must field at least 5 calls from India (and don't get me started on Fridays. . .)
