Follow up- Was real survey for westpac they rang back. If you look under privacy statement on westpac webpage has survey companies details- not the way I spelt it.- AMRi is correct spelling. Fist thing the 'waste my time' company should do is put a recorded message that gives enough information for someone to work out who they are not a half mumbled name . Hope Westpac gets a LOT out of survey as was VERY annoying for this customer.Pity becaiuse You can opt for DO NOT CAL list by requesting the compamy do this . suggest everyone does this!!! Pity about all of this because I think Westpac is a really fantastic bank and normally has exceptional service. PS If you have enough money get a private banker allocated!!

Yeh, I just got a missed call too... and am with Westpac, so guess it makes sense.Thanks for this thread... otherwise I would have been racking my brains trying to figure out who'd called!:)

I doubt you'd have gotten 5 missed calls in 10mins. The was the system works is that if you call a number and there's no answer/answering machine the number will pop up again in 15-30mins. Unless someone just decided to dial the same number 5 times in a row, which is doubtful.

They called our number twice. (02) 9921 6445 - rang back from our unlisted line and got the "survey" line. I don't know if it was AMRI or WestPac (as Chris has posted). I will suggest that they are phishing - computer dialing random numbers - if they get someone on the line - great. If they don't - the person rings back and they register your number on their system. Builds a nice list that way.
