They're a Health Insurance company offering to do a comparison of our current health insurance cover / costs and their options. I was out when they rang, but they emailed to explain the reason for the call. Legit. to me!

never answer a number you do not know> that is the simplest solution.
the do not call register does not work, as most companies use overseas call centers and ignore the do not call register. I wish we could get a dollar for each one attempting to call anyway!

Did a health insurance survey on line and before I could even finish it, my phone was ringing. I didn’t answer it as didn’t know the number. Thanks to this site, I soon found out that it was the health insurance people already onto me! I didn’t want to speak to anyone. I just wanted to compare what is out there.

Did a health insurance comparison that promises not to spam you ... but this I think add you to their mailing list. They still call! I would have called if I wanted to speak with someone?!

Company is Choosewell.
Continue to receive calls from this number, this is a regular occurrence. I blocked the number, so it doesn't ring anymore, but now goes straight to my voicemail. Very annoying.

I ordered pizza from Dominos last night online using the Domino'd website. At the end of the order I was asked to do a survey to win pizza vouchers and/or money. The survey was which health insurers I had heard of. EIGHT minutes later - I was called by a health insurance sales rep. I did not immediately make the connection between the pizza order and I was driving on my way to pick the pizza up so i brushed them off and thought no more about it. Then whilst I was in the store I missed a call from another of their numbers : 0488 824 437.
Do you know what that means? 'Someone' sold my details before the pizza was even cooked. I am no tech wizard, but it would appear to me this could have happened one of 2 ways. 2. Dominos sold my order details as a side profit (you know, in addition to the millions of dollars of pizza) or 2. I was phished by an attack site preying on Dominos good name. If that is the case, who are these Australian Insurance Providers using phishing to obtain business ?

Caller: Healthengine.com.au or someone associated with them
This is very disappointing; I assumed Healthengine.com.au was a reputable company as they are the service I use to book appointments to my local GP. As a couple of others have mentioned, I DID actually tick something (during the process of making an appointment) to indicate, yes, if you really think you do have some good info on health insurance, okay, email it to me. Perhaps if it were not just several random calls, with a beep sound and then hang up, getting a call as opposed to an email might be okay. I am going to talk to my GP and advise they use a different service to allow people to book online.

Same number again (02) 9921 5918, hangs up when I answer, obviously a health insurance fund that I used online, I have just rung them back and asked that they remove my number (work) from their system and they agreed, time will tell. It is CHOOSEWELL Health Insurance.

I did the same thing! Choosewell....Insurance comparison....the page was loading & I received a call. I have received many calls from landline & mobile. They are now blocked. The same has occurred with iSelect! They were on the phone as the page was loading! A quick 5 min call turned into a 25min call. Ironically they were going to call me back the next day & never did....go figure!
