Have call after call from this number, each time they hang up. Today I decided to pick up the phone and say nothing for a while and then said hello and a person answered. I asked why this nonsense was happening and he gave me the run around until I was passed onto his supervisor, Adam,
Adam acknowledged they had a problem with the system and it "sometimes" thinks people answering are answering machines and automatically hung up and assured me my number would be deleted from the system.
So give Adam a ring on 1300 374 537 if you have an issue. He will certainly be receiving a call from me if they call again.

They rang again at 6.15 pm today 9/5/2012, for the fourth time in two weeks. I had told them in no uncertain terms that I was unable and unwilling to support them again on the first call - and told them to take me off their list. The second time they rang I said I have already told you to take me off the list -NEVER CALL again!!
Yesterday at 3.15 they rang ..when I answered ...SILENCE.
Today at 6.15 they rang for the fourth time in two weeks- my wife answered and told them we would not support them again , and to take us off their list.
She was very polite -I would have screamed at them. I believe they were calling again at those times trying to avoid me and hoping my wife would answer and they would get a different response.
I want compensation

I called them on this number - (02) 9856 7035 - and asked them to remove me from the calling list. They were very nice & apologised for all the calls to my number. She said she will take me off their list & blamed the automatic dialling system they have. If it is a system failure, I feel sorry for them coz they've frustrated a lot of people & have a very slim chance of receiving any donations!

I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST and for some reason you guys just called me. Is this list for real or do you telemarketers just don't care. I am a disabled person with a rare medical condition who can not afford to give my money to charities as all money I get goes to my medical conditions. Please Do Not Call Again.

I won't in a million years give you a cent of my money... Stop ringing and hanging up. I used to donate to charities but if you insist on disturbing me outside business hours by being so rude then I will buy more shoes with my money..

Since we started recieving these calls (incidentally we placed our numbers on the do not call register) we have set our phone to fax setting and while it is inconvenient for us , they pay for the call and also get the fax screech. Telstra infomed me that there are no exemptions to the D N C register.

Of late I have been receiving daily calls from the Epilepsy Action number shown here and which I just Googled. These calls are driving me crazy. I've emailed the organisation and am hoping they will leave me alone from now on. Their unethical marketing methods have put me off their organisation permanently, so are most ineffective if raising money is what they are on about.

Have asked to be removed from their marketing list but they keep calling. Aren't doing epilepsy sufferers any favours.

found this message on another forum (Nov 2009) - I've emailed them today, waiting for a reply.
from Carol Ireland "I am the CEO of Epilepsy Action Australia and I apologise to anyone who has been been annoyed or inconvenienced by a call from our Call Centre.
For your information, we are a non-profit organisation delivering essential services Australia wide. Those services, such as emergency medication training, seizure management planning, school and pre-school edication etc are provided free of charge to anyone living with epilepsy who is in need of assistance. Last year arounfd 3% of our income came from government sources. The rest (around $5 million) we need to raise ourself to keep delivering service.
Our lottery program is a core part of our fundraisng and supporters have kept us operating through the challenges of the Global Fiancial Crisis.
I can guarantee that our call centre is 'in-house', and not an outside commercial call centre. In fact a number of our operators are people with epilepsy. However, it is essentail that we use a 'dialling system' and these do present some challenges and problems.
Again, I apologise for any incovenience. To be taken of any list we are dialling just email epilepsy @ epilepsy.org.au providing your name and phone number or call 1300 374 537.
If you should ever need assistance from Epilepsy Action Australia or information about epilepsy, the same contact details apply and please don't hesitate to contact us. You can also get information from our website at www.epilepsy.org.au"
Regards,
Carol

I'v been ignoring these calls for months now...once they rang on my mobile, then on my landline, then after 5 mins rang my land line again....I just picked the phone up and very crossly said 'what?', strangely, they hung up!! Very very annoying, you'd think after trying soooooo many times & getting no-where, they'd give up...no, it's like a challenge for them to catch you!! I' at the point of changing my number!

Time to push back on epilepsy australia ,every time you get a phone call from them: 1) Phone the number back and let them have a piece of your mind 2) send an email to their contact address 'DChapman @ epilepsyaustralia.net'

Had a call from this number tonight at 18.11pm. Not recognising the number I didn't answer. Glad I didn't having read these messages. I don't mind giving to worthy charities, but not ones that harass people.
