Fake number pretending to be AMAZON Prime renewal at an inflated cost. Scam don't respond and hangup

Called me and left no message. Based on the above experiences, I will block this number.

This number is one of a lot of phone calls targetting Tasmania in the past few weeks (May 2021). It only rings a few times then hangs up. The scam is that if you ring back you are charged a premium rate to call them according to Scamwatch website. Another number they use is 0411 546 521. Also, there are calls from numbers with international prefixes such as 64 (NZ), Manila and Singapore.

THE NUMBER BEHIND THIS CALL IS : 0417 274 277. They made the mistake of phoning me, showing this number and playing Prime Amazon message. When called back they got very defensive and upset. Now, the same calls come in but showing (02) 9364 5981.

Claims to be from Amazon. Demands money. Is scam.

Suspicious. came with other interstate calls that do no speak when call answered.

Called but didn't leave a voice message

Recorded message to say that subscription payment for Amazon Prime will be debited from my bank account and to select a number if I wish to speak to someone to cancel it. I don’t have a Prime account.

It appears to be a scam line
