I get so many scam calls these days that I never answer unless I already have the caller's number in my contacts list. In this case the caller did not leave a message which always makes me suspicious. However, after Google search of the number which suggested it might be eBay, I phoned back from another 'phone with a silent number because I had an eBay item go missing in the post and the eBay chat line was giving me the run around. However, I never got to talk to anyone. A recorded message told me to contact eBay using the contact details on their web site. It did not allow for anyone to return a missed van from eBay. Not helpful, but par for the course with call centres these days, it seems! WAFTAM!

Caller: I don't know. I received a call from this number today, claiming to be from eBay Australia. Since I know that eBay only contacts customers through eBay messages, which ensures the avoidance of scam calls, I trust this practice, and eBay has done an excellent job in this regard! When I mentioned this phone number to eBay, they confirmed that no one had called me and asked me to forward this number to them. eBay said they would report this number, and I will definitely do so.

Caller: Ebay I didn't know who was calling me until I looked up call return and found out it was Ebay because the person that rang was to hard to understand, I thought it was someone trying to sell me something and I asked him a couple of times what he was selling but I couldn't understand his answer so I hung up, the worst of that is I was waiting for a call from ebay over a lost item, I just wish they'd employ people that spoke English instead of whatever the person that rang me was speaking, now I've got that out of my system this number is from Ebay but if you ring back all you get is an answering machine. Useless bastards!

Caller: ebay Australia I tried calling ebay a dozen times during the weekend, they put me on hold for extended periods of time then hung up on me. They did this repeatedly. Monday the same. I couldn't find the correct reason on their ebay site to contact them via their preferred b.s. typed chat method, took ages, finally clicked on request a call back. They didn't call, no ring tones, just a missed call message from an anonymous source linked to a number that I've decoded as 6477332255 that doesn't accept incoming calls from ebay. The message reads missed call from (02) 9293 7700 which is the number for ebay Sydney. I rang the number, message said to call back during office hours.
