tried to take out $390 on an empty credit card what an idiot (02) 9278 7735

Just called my parents home number - knew the family name and asked for the date of the debit card that paid the account. Gave name as Robert Jones and ID number as 11512 - went silent when asked for a 13 telstra number to call him back on and then terminated call.

Caller: Robert Jones

Said from do not call very aggressive wanted credit card details. Gave phone no as (02) 9378 7735. I ended hanging up and my landline just kept ringing for about half an hour. Mentioned Telstra and Optus. It was about 7pm last night.

Caller: steve jones

scumbag scammer who preys on elderly and vulnerable credit card holders. Please do not give him any credit card details. This is the third time this scam has been played on a 90 year old!!

Caller: Claimed to be Robert Jones

Call to my mother claiming that someone was trying to use her credit card.; This is the 9th call in a week. Luckily she hung up and contact me as her power of attorney. I am sick of tired of these predators preying on vulnerable and elderly people. My parents are 86 and 88 respectively and highly vulnerable. I am reporting this information as a Scam to the relevant authorities.

Similar to the other two posts - caller was phishing for credit card details - said he was with "Telstra Do Not Call" - my telephone service is not with Telstra

Called from an overseas number 0011 6 5891 498532 but was given this number when I asked for a Melbourne number. Hung up on me when I asked if I can attend to this matter online rather than over the phone.

Claimed he was from Telstra Do Not Call. He wanted my visa expiry date and then asked for my card number. I said I won't give it to him until he gives me his name and phone number, then after giving me this number (02) 9278 7735, I said I will call "Telstra" to confirm if this is genuine, as I wasn't prepared to give my card details over the phone. He got angry with me and started shouting at me and calling me a liar. I told him that I can't trust him, and he said he gave me his phone number so I should trust him. (On the Reverse Australia website, there's no registered phone number). I repeated I will call this number and he told me not too. I said that if he was a Telstra employee, he is very rude, as you do not shout at your customers. I recorded his call, and told him I am hanging up on him. He called back and again verbally was forceful, so I hung up, he then called again, and I refused to answer the call. I believe he is a SCAMMER, and feel sorry for any older person who will get hoodwinked into giving their card details over the phone to a stranger.
