The lady on the phone said it was Optus calling. Knew my first name and email address. Then said they would send a one time access code to verify it was Optus. I read out the code but she said she didn't know the code, ie, the code was invalid. So sent another one. Same thing. No idea what was going on but did not give out any personal info, except confirming surname and postcode. She also knew how long I had been with Optus, so not sure if it was legit or just a bad operator.

I answered the call and said "Hello". I heard people talking in the background, but no one said anything to me. They hanged up on me after 5 seconds.

Caller: They said they were from 24/7 then when asked later they said optus They knew my name & said they could get a discount as I had been an Optus customer for over 4 years. Said they were from Optus. They asked me to confirm my postcode, I didn't. I asked to call them back and they said they could call me back. I said I would call Optus back and they said okay and hung up. Seemed like a scam.

Caller: A male person Received a call just now from this number who said he was from Optus and as I have been with Optus for over 10;years Optus were going to give me a free mobile phone for only $1 . I said so do I have to give you my banking details now? As I won't be doing that but he said as I pay by direct debit they will have my details. He then asked for my date of birth but I said this is a scam and I am not going to give you my details and he then got annoyed and said it's not a scam but I said you may or not be one but I have no way of knowing. So I hung Up

Keeps calling. Never leaves a message. Following Optus hack I now only answer recognised numbers. If important they should leave a message.

Caller: I dont know Didn't answer - just wanted to let everyone know I also received a call from this same number. I find it weird that if it is a scam call (and I'm pretty sure it is), why do the scammers use the same number? I mean, there are nine pages of scam alerts here. Weird, & kinda sad & amateur. Don't they know about reverse Australia? Bogans.

I have just had an NBN tech to my place because of the internet dropping out, and a few hours later had two calls from this number so it's probably about the service but I still didn't answer it
