Caller: Offshore IT Support Team from Optus Doubted this call in the vert beginning as they tried to call me twice in one minute. As much as it sounded like a scammer calling, the caller was actually calling from a call centre in India on behalf of Optus, following up on a technical issue I have with their service. The caller asked for my Last Name and Postcode, before sending me a one-time code to confirm my identity. The caller's instructions were occasionally hard to follow because of the accent and the background noise, but with some patience they got my issue fully resolved.

Phone rang and I it stopped before I could pick up the phone . Assumed it was a scam. I have been in rouch with Optus this week so presumably it was their contractor as per other posts. Not going to ring them back.

Caller: Optus may be If this is a scam call. They have too much recent information to my actions on the Optus account. The only explanation is they have access to Optus system in realtime. They try to convince me to give them information to transfer phone number to my name. I suspect they will use it against sterling my phone number.

Caller: 24/7 on behalf of Optus. Subcontractor of Optus who persist in calling and not leaving voicemail. When I initially contacted Optus, I specifically asked not to be phoned and to be contacted via email. They never take any notice. I don't answer unknown numbers, as I'm sick and t owed of fending of scam calls since being caught up in the Optus data breach.

Caller: Optus This is a legit Optus number. I have been having issues with my NBN (pre-cyber attack) and Optus case management just phoned to let me know there is an outage with NBN affecting 36 customers and they will be monitoring my services. I have also just received an SMS to say the above.

Exact same thing here. I personally rang Optus customer services myself to have an issue resolved with my account, then received a call from this number mid way through whilst still in the middle of talking directly to an official Optus rep.

Caller: Claiming to be Optus (02) 9174 3000 I ordered a new phone online from Optus, about a week ago. Today I get a call saying they are from Optus wanting to confirm my details. I gave them my DOB and surname. I didn't think anything of it. Till they just called again asking the same thing. I said no . He said we need to confirm your identity. I said not now call back later.... I will be blocking them. I feel so stupid. I never get scammed.

Caller: SCAM Heavy Indian accent and can hear other telecommunication’s in the background. Sounded like the usual scam telemarketers. Could not understand them and asking for my personal details. If this is legitimately Optus… you sold your selves out to a foreign country who’s know for their scams. I can’t trust Optus anymore.

Caller: Optus level 2 support monkey This number appears to be very well spoof targeted by those with less than honourable intentions.
This is very unfortunate, as it can be really, OPTUS level 2 backroom support (please keep this in mind before you issue any profanity).
OPTUS know this, yet their level 2 backroom support.staff persist in asking for all the exact same identity info the nasty people want and need to go about their nefarious undertakings.
Recently staff are less offended, when I push back, simply offering to pass "small" stuff by SMS, "larger" stuff via the account's preexisting email address.
Remember always maintain a zero outbound information policy, but be polite about it.

Caller: Optus supposedly I suspect that these scammers somehow have access to Optus database. I did have a chat via the Optus app about an hour before the first call came from this number. They've left a message saying trying to reach me about case number xxxx but I was never assigned a case number. The caller sounded like a lady with an Indian accent. Potentially may have been former call centre staff who have somehow retained access to our data.
