Caller: Optus re cyber attack

I told the caller that Optus should have it's name appearing. Expecting customers such as myself who have had their personal data stolen to be answering unknown calls is silly.

Was called by this number the gentleman introduced himself as “Gabriel” he claimed to be from Optus and asked me to confirm my details. Felt like a scam and straight after the data breach I refused to confirm any details he said he’d email me instead but never received an email. Well done Optus your incompetence has made every phone call from an unrecognised number a potential scam by your poor customers. Just pathetic.

Caller: suspected scam appeared on my phone -

I firstly received an sms from Gabriel @ optus?? advising me that they will be in contact with me shortly regarding my complaint, I then received a call from a suspected spam number (which i did not answer), the number did not identify that it was from optus regarding my personal data breach complaint. I then received another SMS from Gabriel advising me that he has tried to contact me regarding my complaint but could not make contact and will try again in the coming days.
HEY OPTUS, WHEN DID YOUR COMPANY LOSE THE PLOT - I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR MANY MANY MANY YEARS BUT MAY HAVE TO CONSIDER CHANGING TO ANOTHER CARRIER. - YOUR CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE HAS GONE DOWN THE TOILET

Received call from this number, claiming to be Optus - Upon further insistence from myself, the caller then said it's actually a company called 24/7 , calling on behalf of Optus. They then insisted on my personal details to identify myself. I reminded them that they called me! and I need to know they are who they say they are , and if indeed she was calling on behalf of Optus, then she should have my DOB, address and other details so I could verify that they are legitimate. this information was refused, she would not discus the reason for the call unless I divulged my identity details and then became very passive aggressive telling me I was unable to be helped unless I gave the information. I thanked them for the call and hung up. I have received no less than 6 more calls from this number, all asking for the same information and refusing to discuss the reason until I give identity details. I have blocked the number . If this is Optus (or a representative company) well done ! - what a sh*t show you are running, after your data give-aways we still get callers unable to understand the basics of personal security - Change your Processes Optus !

This is from Optus. You will probably find that companies like Optus will use a generic "number" like this one so that it doesn't show as an unknown number, because of reasons a lot of people have already mentioned. Yeah - I don't answer unknown numbers - if they want to talk to me, I tell them to leave a message so I can call them back. They rarely do.

Caller: Optus??

Said they were Optus but the call quality was so bad that they were basically inaudible. Surely Optus’ own offices would have better reception?? Worried it may be a scam following the data breach

Caller: “optus”

Lady with extremely bad english pronunciation calling stating she was from optus and repeated my full name and said they want to make sure us valued customers are getting the best deal. i said “yes that’s okay” and she was so confused as if i never answered her. i had to get her to repeat herself cause she was just mumbling in the phone and i could hear other people talking in the background which usually means call centre scam. don’t provide them with any information.

Keep leaving messages, however the message is very passive aggressive and I have taken issue with it. They end the call by saying "please answer the call next time". I fi d this dissapointing and complete unnecessary. I have spent hours on hild and waiting for them to resolve a simple issue that they simply can not seem to do! I asked them not to call me until the issue is resolved yet they still call and its not resolved and will not be for a few days....i know this because I was told that...frustrating and waste of time. Optus need to look at their processes and procedures and need to stop harassment of loyal customers, especially those affected by the breach. It just adds fuel to an every expanding sh!t fire. Rant over.

Called and left no message. Another scam trying to see who would answer their call and fall prey to giving them their details.

Received a call from (02) 9174 3000, but didn’t pick up the call, the guy left a voicemail saying that his name is Mark from Optus loyal team. Check with Optus messaging chat and the staff told that, it is not from Optus.

Optus becoming bad in customer service( through chatting message platform - empty promises) apart from charging high premium price with low quality service. Can’t believe it is bad compare to before. I have had to make several attempts before the number could actually port across.

Don’t think I will join back for Optus for any service in the future . Good luck to those who are still with them. Enjoy low quality NBN and charged for higher premium price.

I had missed numerous calls from this number on a daily basis for weeks. I have just answered the call for them to hang up straight away. Scammers for sure.
