Received inbound call from this number at 6-05 am. Citing fraudulent transaction on my BankSA card ending ——. Who makes a fraud alert call at this hour?

Caller: Westpac In my case it was a Legit call. But genuine numbers can be faked or "spoofed" by scammers (see some comments saying this was happening while appearing to be from this genuine number) only reveal your banking details when YOU calling THEM on the number you got from you bank, not here..... If it's Westpac use the Westpac phone banking number. Numbers can be fake if they were made from. Network other than Telstra, and as their own website says, it's a growing global problem. Mea while, welcome to Australia, the most scammed population in the world, with some of the worst scamming protections. It's 2024 and too little too late, but at least it's slowly getting batter.

Didn't leave message however at the same time I did receive an email from St George about a query I had so from reading these comments guess it was legit.

This number called me 6 times today. I note other people on this tread say that it is Westpac or St George, however when you call the number there is a message that says ... "we regret that the number you have dialled is temporarily out of service"... I have called it numerous times and get the same message.

Caller: Jacob Called at 3pm a few times and stated it was Jacob from Westpac concerning an application I had made. I immediately called Westpac on their true number and talked to a few departments who could not find any reason why Westpac would want to communicate with me. I will ignore this number and block it. Possible scam.

I received (02) 9155 0000 a few times on different days in Singapore but was unwilling to pick up the phone for fear of fraud as our country senior folks were scammed badly for the past few years

Called at 2:15 am, 12:15am my local time. Went to message bank. Assume they thought “overseas” means should call at weird hours.

Caller: St George Bank I received a call from this phone number checking if 2 recent online transactions were valid as they were both flagged by their fraud team as unusual activity for my account. They were both my transactions & I was grateful for the check in. He didn't ask for any additional info from me. Legitimate phone number.

Caller: It would be st George but can't ring back. You can't ring this number back as most calls from this centre is routed back through this number. I got a call I couldn't answer because of work but this call was after a text message and a fraud transaction was blocked.

Didn't answer as didn't recognise. Above messages reminded me I have been waiting for a call back from Westpac mortgages. I rang back but similar to above got the "disconnected" message -- annoying.

Caller: Westpac Security team They noticed that there is a large sum of money paid to a new payee from my account, checking if this is done by me. He also knew how much and who is the receiver, and asked what it was for to make sure it's okay
