Caller: Said they were Optus

Said they could offer a discount on Optus mobile plan.
Wanted Name, date of birth and email address supposedly to access your Optus account but could not provide any information to verify they were Optus.
Checked with Optus and they said they will always give the name of the account to check. They confirm DOB giving day and month and ask for year.
They can quote email, Account number etc.

Sent me a downloadable file via txt. No message just a download. I didn't download it. Make them as spam and move on.

Pretending to be Telstra, offering 45% discount on bills for 6 months because they understand covid has caused some difficult times. Started asking for information and hung up when I questioned her integrity. DO NOT ANSWER - SCAM

Didn't answer but will block thanks to these comments made by others.

Young Indian girl rang. Told me she was from Optus and would send email after call. Advised me that I had qualified for a 50% discount off my Optus account for 6 months. Asked for name, email address. No such email has been received from Optus. So far nothing has happened, hope it doesn’t!!
Please be careful, many scams these days. This could be one..
