Yesterday I got a call from this number to my mobile while I was driving. Later coming home, I tried this number to respond but only I heard the music and no response.  Now a days too many unwanted calls everyday.  I don't know how to stop this unnecessary private calls.

Hi GuysI ignored this call too, just remember though, even if you've entered a competition to win something with another company, in the terms and conditions it may say they can sell your data to other companies (usually worded far nicer than this).It is the law they tell you where they got your data from, as you can then contact the company who sells or rents it and asked to be removed. It's pretty simple and they are required to action the removal by law in 7 days I think?

I got a call like this about a week ago, didn't take note of the number, but he tried to convince me I'd filled in a survey about financial advice - reducing your tax / loan repayments and the like.I know I haven't filled in any such survey for something like that as it is not something I need help with.My phone just rang again and I went to answer, but it appears they hung-up before I could answer so I google the phone number and found this thread.The Australian Privacy Policy has inclusions that mean that if someone calls you they need to be able to provide you with details as to exactly how they got your phone number as well as the caller should also, when asked provide details of the company they work for including an address you can write to to have your name removed from their database.   If they don't provide this, just advise them you'll contact ACMA/ADMA or any other regulatory body you can think of.  I've had to do this before with another company that didn't understand NO meant NO.The only other way to attempt stop calls is to sign-up to the Do Not Call register which stops most telemarketing (but not charities as they are exempt).
