I have been getting calls to my mobile from this number. As soon as I answer they hang up.
When I call the number back there's a recorded male voice (UK ?Manchester/Lancashire accent) which says: "Hi, if you've received a missed call from this number we were calling you on behalf of a charitable organisation to thank you for your support, and we'll try and contact you again in the near future. Thankyou and have a lovely day."
Which charitable organisation would that be I wonder?

02 is the area code for the State of New South Wales (NSW), so it looks like the calls are originating from, or being routed through NSW, Australia.
The recording would indicate they are holding themselves out to be an agent of a 'Non-profit Organization'.

Same thing, 6 calls in one week, no messages, but after reading above comments, no one seems to know exactly who the calls are from?, but it's obvious our ph no's are being passed on by charities and surveys. These companies should seriously look at this as the next step will be no one donating to worthwhile causes (which would be a shame) or participating in surveys EVER !!!!!

If this IS Greenpeace or another charity I have supported I will be very annoyed that my number has been shared. I will no longer respond to surveys or petitions that require my phone number.

I answered this call. They were calling about Cerebal Palsy awareness.

Same they keep calling and no messages. When you call back no one answers. At first I picked up but there was never anyone there!

Ditto. Calls. No Message. I don't answer. Going to Block because the number has shown up. Often no number listed. BUT ... as for Charities, suggest if a Charity is named you call them direct and tell them so they stop contracting out to this Company. I think every computer generated call is probably being Charged Up to DECENT Charities. I think Medecins Sans Frontieres was one showing up once that I rang? I support MSF. Nothing wrong with work it does. Decent Charities shouldn't suffer but they need to take Responsibility and Quit corrupt telemarketers.

Yep same thing here. I've been getting phone calls from this number for about a month or so, including 3 in the last week. I've stopped answering now, but when I did answer the first few times I was met with a dial tone. I've noticed that a lot of people on here have pointed the finger at charities - and while I don't know if that's true or not, I have donated to Amnesty International in the past.

Getting daily calls from this number. I have set it in my block list so it goes to voicemail. They don't leave a message.

the company collected in 2010 $936,546.00 but its expenses were $958,381.00 which resulted in $0.00 going to any charities???? not sure how factual this is but going on the many many different telephone nos they have, the way they continually ring and ring and ring, the fact a lot of these calls appear computer generated and they do not even have the courtesy to even answer but just hang up even if we do happen to get to the phone in time I would seriously doubt that any money given to the organisation manages to make it to any legitimate charity.

received a missed call today from this number. yes, its the same thing everyone is saying here. I took a call a month ago about which charities I would donate to in the future. now, all those are ringing me. NOT that they realise that I told the guy in the original call that when someone rings me, I automatically tick them off the list I donate to in the future, because my time is important and they only waste that time asking me dumb questions. OBVIOUSLY these charities never got that part of the message I told this guy. They are lucky today I didn't get to the call. UNHCR was ticked off last one. Its a shame, but a donation from me only comes when they respect my wishes. FAIL.

Perhaps if you return the call you are then charged at a higher rate. Check your next phone bill.

I have had several calls from this number since I did a survey asking what charities I have/would donate to. I did answer the call the first time. The guy said he was calling on behalf of Amnesty International. I'm not sure how to stop this. I registered on the do not call registry (however charities are exempt from this anyway) I called the number back but I just received a recorded message as the other person did. If I can answer next time I will and will request my number get taken off the calling list
