Have received random calls from this number on my mobile over the past two weeks, I do not answer as I don't recognise the number. They usually don't leave a message but today they left a 22 sec message. I will not spend my money to listen to it. Thanks for the alert.

They've been calling my mobile for the last few days, and didn't recognise the number so didn't answer. I'm in the Newcastle area to. I definitely won't answer now. Thanks for the info.

Just received a call from this number saying they were calling on behalf of Energy Australia and the woman offered me a 12% discount on my bill if I lock into a 2 year contract. She said they wouldn't mail me any information, only a written confirmation after verbally agreeing and the offer was only valid over the phone. There are 2 people on my electricity account and they had no idea about the second person and the suburb for my house was wrong too. When I told them this they hung up on me. At no point was I going through with it, I kept saying I wasn't agreeing to anything over the phone and she kept pushing me.

A guy with Indian accent called me with the exact same content and he will call me again a few days later. As per comments above, I'll ask him written details first and if he refuses it, I'll do nothing.

I just had the same call. Very dodgy sounding woman saying they were calling from Energy Australia but did not know my details. She was sneakily trying to get me to say just yes to having information sent out by which I insistently clarified meant that I would verbally agree to their terms over the phone. I said I was not agreeing to anything over the phone without having seen written details and then they hung up. I then called Energy Australia, they didn't know anything about it and told me as long as I didn't say yes to anything over the phone. Beware!
