3 x calls today - exactly like everyone else's.

I had a message that I was being chased for tax evasion and there was a warrant out I had to call (02) 9119 2972

Same story as everyone else

Same Jason O'Connor saying "Local police from your territory..." The message does not say who the person is specifically trying to contact and they would never disclose the exact nature of the call if it was real

Scam call, apparently Jason is from the ATO and warned me there is a warrant out for our arrest hahah.
I know it is a load of poop, but what I want to know is how we can stop them from calling again?

An indian accented person left a message saying they were from the ATO and (they didn't say my name) had a tax evasion case against me and that the local police were coming over with a warrant for my arrest!! They left the number to call. How do we stop these scams? I've registered my number with the Do Not Call Register. I must admit they sounded slightly convincing and someone more vulnerable could fall for it.

Jason O'Connor called me from a different number, and called my client from this one. His very non-Irish accent made me suss when he said his name ...

Scammed my 75yo mother out of $1500 today. Low life scumbags. Caller told her he was from AFP on behalf of the tax office. Said her phones were tapped and they could hear everything she was saying. If she told anyone they would come around to her house and take everything.

This number should be investigated , can not let him play with it!!!

Got the same call from the same mob. What is the police doing about these scammers, particularly when they seem to have a registered phone number they are working from??

I had two missed calls today all with the same information as all the other comments. Can the police do anything if they are given this phone number?

I've just had him call twice in 2 hours with the same recorded message. I've been on a pension for nearly 18 years so had no contact with ATO in that time.

Just received an automated message from ATO Jason O'Connor, gave me a laugh for the day, now I'm waiting for my arrest ooooo

this number called my elderly mother today and told her she would be arrested in the afternoon, total arseholes scaring people, especially the elderly !

jason has called and left a message claiming to be from ato - spam

This Jason O'Connor rang me twice already. Once last Wednesday 11 May and basically said the same thing as the others on this thread. First number he left was 888 002 12. Rang me back a few minutes ago and left the same message but left this number. Really annoying. Have flagged this call with ACCC scam watch.
