May I suggest the only way to deal with these nuisance calls is buy yourself a caller ID phone from either d*ck Smith or Telstra then call your service provider and ask to receive caller ID. I bought a great phone from d*ck Smith for $60 and pay $3/month for caller ID. When the phone rings you see the number calling. Write down the scam calls so you dont get caught again and dont answer private calls. Problem solved.

From menulog wanting to check details of an order. Harmless but clearly an o/s call (filipino?) routing through an Australian number. I wasn't giving her standard answers so I believe that she could not understand so just kept repeating the same thing.

The fact that the message bank has no company name mentioned made my brain scream "SCAM SCAM SCAM!" (02) 9119 2586.

Hey, Ingrid!
Whoever your phone provider is, you can ring them up and ask them to block it for you. I think they'll only do it if the 02 number keeps calling you. Don't call the scam number back because I think what they do is they lure people to the number, get them to call it and gain money for how long you stay on the line. I rang them up and followed the number prompts and it's an endless loop, unless you want to speak to the next available operator and then it just hangs up instantly.

This lady with a filipino accent rang my phone at 3:58 pm yesterday from this number claiming to be part of the Jetstar team. What is weird is because I lost my luggage a few weeks ago (never fly Jetstar) and she knew the exact details I gave the lady at the airport in Darwin for the contents of my luggage and she didn't ask for any information, just wanted to speak to me. I have no idea what is happening and I have no idea how that person got those specific details of what the contents are in my bag if she wasn't a legitimate person.

Until now I had missed a number of their calls, and today I answered the phone to a female caller, obviously from distant land, not Australia! Stating I had failed to complete purchase. I responded that If this was the case, I did not want the product and to continue to call me would be seen as harassment. I hang up on her and am currently trying to block the number to no avail. Any suggestions?

I have been receiving this call by the name of Eric. He didn't state his company name clearly and said that I could benefit from the new government incentives and needed an appointment with me to discuss about this. I rejected him couple of times but he was being persistence to make an appointment to have someone to visit me. I told him I'm not interested but he insisted with a time and then he hung up. Few days later, he called again and I decided not to speak with him again.

I got the same just now, could not understand her when she said where she was calling from. She said I had visited their website & asked for more information so I just hung up. I am thinking scam or telemarketer, either way it is not welcomed.

They called today asking for my husband. I asked where they were calling from and they said "Best selling solutions". I asked the purpose of the call and they said it was to inform me about the benefits of the government. I asked them if they were the government or affiliated and they claimed they could help us with the government. It was obviously a scam so I kept telling her to call later to speak with my husband but she would call again. I told them to email me to discuss it further so she could stop calling me.
Also, she had an American or Canadian accent claiming she was calling from Baulkham Hills, Sydney instead of Baulkham Hills, NSW. Definitely a scam, probably calling from another country.

Called reporting they are Symantec and wanted to talk about licensing. Kept sending funny looking emails from an non-Symantec domain name. 2-3 calls per day.

Genuine call from Menulog regarding an order I just posted. But no direct contact with anyone once I returned the call and ended up with just having to leave a message.

This number left message for me on voicemail - they said they were from MenuLog and that my order had not gone through. This was a legitimate call since I had just ordered food.
