Got a phone call from a very Indian sounding man, claiming he was "from the government" wasn't very confident w/ his speech. Asked me about how my income / work has been affected during the COVID pandemic and informed me - before I even had a chance to speak - that I may be eligible to claim some form of entitlement before I just hung up.

Scammer - you don't get calls offering you entitlements/cashback, especially not from the "Government".

Lol first of all when I answered I said “hello paul speaking” he came on the line and said (in a very strong paki accent) “good afternoon my name’s Paul can I speak to Mr Symcox…”I laughed and said ummm NO..reason being is that surname was my grandfathers surname, who died when my mother (his daughter) was only 6 years old..in the UK! Lol my mother has been dead 10years ages 64 when she passed..in the UK, and her mother (my nanna) had remarried when my mum was about 14 so that surname hadn’t been used in my family for 50 years 🤣🤣 I mean I thought about playing with him but I couldn’t control the laugh coming out so yeah it’s DEFINITELY a SCAM CALL

Indian female voice. Said they were from "Australian Life Opinion Research" (I think). I tried googling it while they were on the line. No matches. When I started interrupting their spiel they hung up. Suspect some sort of spam call

Phone automatically reported number as Spam/Scam - Phone block the call before I got it.

Called at 7pm on a Friday night. didn't leave a message.

Caller: Stacey Australian Lifestyle Research

Stacey claimed to be from Australian Lifestyle Research in NSW. When I questioned where she obtained my phone number, she repeated her spiel except she was now in Victoria. When I again challenged her, I told her that unless she told me who gave her my number I would report her to the Telephone Communications Ombudsman (not sure there is one) she promptly hung up.

The usual calls, indian call centre background, asking about possible claim for payment/payout.

Just had the same call. Said it was an opinion poll about how my investments changed since covid. Asked for things like my job title, wage bracket, if I invest and where, email etc. Just gave a lot of fake details.

Rang did not leave a message? Scammer

Uuaga appeared on my phone. No msg left. Annoying and untrustworthy. Reported as fraud.
