Caller: A woman saying she was calling from "Charity"

Still at it. A Chinese lady. Said she was doing a survey with just a few 'yes'/'no' questions. After questioning her, she said the survey was on behalf of charities and named some. After repeated questioning, she said she was working for "Charity Today" and gave the (02) 9119 2549 number. Was instantly suspicious because of the international 'pause of silence' at the start of the call, and because never having changed my last name to my husband's, experience has shown that it is only overseas nuisance callers who are "fishing", who ask to speak to "Mrs... insert Husband's surname". Instant giveaway of a nuisance call.

Have rung us several times this week but hang up when we answer - can't call back the number it just disconnects. We had some other calls too from people saying they were from Google and our information was wrong....

When I picked up, they did not hear me answer, so I waited.
The male on the other end was laughing to someone in mid conversation of what sounded like an asian dialect. I would say more familiar to Chinese dialect as I am a little familiar , but more familiar with Thai, Vietnamese and Laos.
Really coincidental as I just tried to use Paypal to purchase something on the internet?????
Called back and only got voice mail for 'Charity Today'.

Samsung S9 came up as potential fraud, did not answer and blocked the number

Do not answer. SCAM! Blocked on my phone so they will probably try again from another number.

Scammers - Do not answer. Says from Australia, but knows nothing about australia. When asking questions, there is always a pause and response is the same as you get from google search....hahahahaha

Rang but did not leave a message on the answering machine.

Caller: Group of charities

This number has called me three times over the past week and hung up. Today a woman came on the line and said they wanted to do some sort of questionning regarding my attitude to charities. I said I didn't do surveys, she then persisted and said she wasn't doing a survey, but wanted to gauge my reaction to some questions. I said that is a survey to me, and I wouldn't continue the conversation. Ended up saying goodbye and hanging up on her.

Didnt leave message just blocked number. They ring daily on different numbers.

Got a call from a number yesterday that was just ten digits different to this on - both supposedly from Sydney. Both are now blocked as I see from other comments- as I guessed, they are related and scam.

Cold call from woman. Phone number (02) 9119 2549, but said she was in the St Francis Building, in the CBD, Bacolod in the Philippines. I asked what charities she was connected to in Australia. She said Black Dog and Cancer Council of New South Wales. I said thank you, I will check out if you are genuine before answering your survey. She said thank you, and the her job was just to make the call, not to answer my questions. I hung up politely. I rang the number on a different phone and heard a recorded message in an Australian male voice say "You have reached Charity Today. If you wish to opt out give your name and phone number. It will take 14 days." But I can't find any reference to an Australian charity called Charity Today.

They are still at it. Had a missed call on the land line this morning, and no message

Said her name was Grace, ringing about a survey on behalf of many well-known charities. Got my name and number from the phone book, then asked what my initial stood for. I refused to tell her and hung up as she started to blather. They've rung before and I hung up then too.
