I'd pick up the call and then a second later it hangs up. Then i'll call the number back and there's a machine saying "you have been contacted by Hosted Contact... and you may be contacted again in the future".
I get this call everyday about 2-3 time a day. Very annoying.

By chance I thought to Google this number: (02) 9112 5000 to find out who it was, and came across this forum. I am with Telstra, and of late have been receiving heaps of marketing sms's/mms clips, which give me a number to phone to opt out. As I have been too lazy to opt out, I am guessing that as some further spamming research, they are calling from a blank number to suss out data for further campaigns etc. I can only assume that Telstra have sold the data of my account to a third party. I was going to leave them anyhow, but this has really annoyed me. After reading Ben's comment from 8April, I am starting to think it is certainly related as he's with telstra too.
How dodgy. Telstra have seriously gone downhill. But I am glad to have found this forum to know that I am not the only one suffering!

Been happening for a few days now, today (27th/8) was the first time multiple calls were made, 11 in the morning, 2.20 in the afternoon.I get no response when I answer. I've got no idea why it's happening. I'm with Vodafone and I have no landline. I'm not sure how they got my number either. Anyone with ideas please keep us posted.

I have been getting the calls from the number for quite sometime now.. 6 months now, that i have been getting the calls, almost everyday.. stupid.. it a land line somewhere in NSW.. can we just report it to Telstra to just terminate the number..because it drives half-a-million people going NUTS..
anyway, i'm a 3 customer..

yeah I'm getting this as well anybody know anything about it and how to stop it ? Optus say they can't stop it and you can't block the call either...
