Received a call at 2:30pm today from (02) 9112 3789 claiming to be a call centre selling raffle tickets for the Australian Red Cross for the Telecross program. I impulsively agreed to purchase some tickets (because I was a bit distracted at the time) but later investigated it to find that: 1.the Red Cross were currently selling raffle tickets via phone, however, I could not get specific details about methodology although they would get back to me by tomorrow (too late); 2. when phoning the above number I received a recorded message stating something along the lines of "you have been phoned in regards to NSW charitable gifting" ?!!! 3. the caller said AMEX was not accepted although when I checked the Aust Red Cross website, AMEX is readily accepted. Subsequently, I cancelled my credit card which luckily hadn't been debited as yet. I can't positively say it was a phone scam but in hindsight, the caller was a little sketchy on details (although he was extremely polite). The danger is that it is easy for any fraudster to Google what current raffles are in existence and pretend to represent them. Also, the timing was impeccable because it's nearly end of the financial year! Anyhow, I have vowed never to bother accepting such offers from callers as there's really no assurance that it's genuine.

If you are getting unwanted calls on your landline and have the number, you can call Telstra and have the number blocked.

Hang up call from this mob, similar to others mentioned above. Reported to donotcall register - yes I know they should be renamed DoNotAct - nothing ever happens, but I like to report it and hope that someone there is forced to work. I know charities are exempt from the register, but I reckon they should lose that exemption.

I have received a few calls from this number before from various different charities and banks...This evening at 7:30pm they were saying that they are from Kids Cancer Foundation. Wanting to thank me for my $50 donation a couple of weeks ago in a shopping centre near me. When questioned which shopping centre, they could not answer, when I asked how did they get my number, they said I filled out a form. I have made no such donation, never filled out any form and I never put my mobile down. If I do fill out "Raffle" forms or tickets I only put down a special email address set up in case details are then sold on.
THIS OBVIOUSLY A SCAM...!!!!
I did however make her waste 20 minutes of her time before she (Indian) got the sh*ts with me and hung up....

I'm getting calls on this number almost every day.... day or night, they care not and keep calling. Every time I get to the phone to answer it, they've hung up. What's the point? Do Not Call register has had no effect so I suspect they claim to be a charity so can't be blocked by the DNC register. Frustrating.

I received at 7:30 PM (AEST) today from the same number (02) 9112 3789 and when I picked up and answered Hello, it got immediately disconnected. I then just searched on the net to see the same number already has been reported. But today is the first time for me to spend time to search something like this and now afraid that people have complained many years ago.....

Just received a call from this number. I suspect it is linked to the same people at (02) 9112 3719 which is a scam charity, people saying they are the SES raising money for the Noosa floods. SES does not solicit money via phone (to the best of my knowledge).

It appears that the number segment (02) 9112 3700 - (02) 9112 3799 so effectively 02 9112 37xx claims to be a nsw charitable organisation but withought a proper identification it would seem that this is not a legitimate claim.because of how telephone exchange systems work the contact number or Line Hunt number could be any of the 100 numbers that are covered by this segment.I will now list numbers from the above mentioned segment that i have tryed, (landlines are free for me), and i will also advise if there is a main number.02 9112 37xxxx000107778999Please add any tryed combos to this thredalso post if you find the main number, if there is one, or any other detailscheerscybersloth

I've been getting calls from this number for a couple of months. When I answer there is nobody there, and when I've called back it says I've just missed a charity call. I'd like to get them to stop...
