A woman called and spoke in a very thick Asian accent and said that she was calling about the security of my computer, saying that the company she works for is aware of certain files being downloaded to my computer, monitored by their global security server. I immediately thought this is a scam for sure. She then asked if I was sitting at my computer. "Yes," I said. "Can you find the CTRL key for me?" "Yes," I said. "What is the name of the key next to the CTRL key?" "The Start key? That's on the left hand side," I said. "No Sir, not the left hand side, what is the key next to the CTRL on the right hand side of the keyboard?" "Oh, the arrow to the left key?" "No, the one right next to the CTRL key." "Oh sorry," I apologised, "do you mean the shift key?" "No, the shift key is above the CTRL key." "Oh, of course!" I said, acting unintelligently. "You're right, the shift key is above the CTRL key!" I was wondering where she was going to go next, but then she hung up. She called on my landline and I have a Uniden phone that lets you block certain numbers. Needless to say, I blocked this number!

Had nuisance calls from this number before fortunately I recognised the number and just let it ring out We should have these serial pests removed from all the telephone and computerised phone systems.

Called and started to ramble on about my computer so I hung up. Call straight back and asked why I hung up on him. I just said I know you are a scam and hung up again.

Scammers - "Telstra" Technical Support - You have a virus on your computer. They call regularly, they must enjoy the chat with our answering machine because they keep calling despite being blocked - scam the scammer!

Sometime they call themselves "State Accident Department", at other time they call themselves "Telstra Technical Department", there is one suspiscion they have access to some Government files...Centrelink Telstra ATO etc... even possibly bank files, because they looked well informed... these people could be guided by former or current IT Telstra contractors mostly ripping off elderly people...the more lethal people work through the "conduit" addware malware and/ or the vans scanning your wifi content along the streets for identity thief helped by insiders in govt agencies!

They called, she told me the story blah blah. I said I don't have a computer. She then asked straight away if I had a laptop or any other device? I politely said f##k off ya scammers, she immediately hung up.

Something like IT Services saying that I have a security breach on my computer. I told them my computer was in warranty and that Id take it back to Harvey Norman and they said Harvey Norman couldn't help but then quickly hung up.

I missed a call from this number. When I returned the call, I got a message saying that the call could not be connected. Dialled a second time, with the same result. Seemed dodgy to me... like a fake number. From the above comments, it obviously is.

Say they are ringing from Telstra (I'm not with Telstra) and my internet service is sending corrupt files and will be disconnected. This scam is getting old now, everyone should be a wake up to it.

lol, told me my computer had downloaded some malicious files. I asked if he wanted to talk to my computer? he said he wanted to talk to the owner of the computer. I said 'yep thats me' he then asked if i can go to my computer, I told him I wasnt near it and couldnt help. He then started arguing that I told him I was at home. I said I did not. He insisted I did, I then asked if he was calling me a liar? to which he insisted I said I was at home. I honestly couldnt play with him anymore & had to hang up laughing like a crazy person.
