This morning recieved two recorded messages from this number mentioning the do not call register and suggesting it is the ATO calling, advises that legal notices have been sent and returned due to non delivery and that a warrant for arrest has been made out we were advised to ring this number. not sure what the scam is

I have had several messages left on my answering machine stating that the police were going to be visiting me soon. on listening to the message a few times I realised that the message was a very bad recording. Just wish these scams would end.

This morning 5/8/16 i got a call and voicemail from this number claiming to be the ATO. Unfortunately i became victim to their scam because i do owe money to the ATO but I have lost $3000. There were 3 different people i talked to and they were all Indian. They threatened me with legal action.

Two recorded messages on our answering machine advising warrant issued for our arrest due to an audit done by the ATO. And yes Indian accent. Not falling for it.

Reading the blog above I'm pretty sure it's a scam ,
Should be reported to the tax department
Then we'll see who needs to get their lawyer to call......

Same threatening message at 4pm on 4 August 2016. When I called back he (Indian accent again) started to ask for my details - I hung up.

We also received two threatening messages today 4 August 2016 from number (02) 9099 5796

Same as all the others. Two calls - threaten arrest due to inaction of previous correspondence.
Apparently the scam is - you return the call, they get you to "pay a fine or penalty" or get arrested. The police are on their way. Some have reported that Apple iTunes voucher codes are the payment.
Just ignore or delete. DO NOT RING BACK.

Just got one of those recorded calls today, with a North American (?) accent threatening me with arrest and telling me to call (02) 9099 5796. I'd advise against ringing them. Have received several calls from this number but they never give me a chance to answer them and leave some mesage indicating I have a tax problem .
It would be good if I did.????old and unemployed? not Aboriginal.

On googling the number there are numerous complaints with simular numbers (last 2 numbers different)...
