Had a call from them this morning. They hung up on me. I called them back and told them I am reporting them. "you that" was the reply with some abuse...... I reported it to 1800 008 540 who took details to pass on to Authorities.

ATO scammers are out in full force today. 2 phone calls from the feral thieving scum.
phone no. (02) 9099 5755. apparently the name was Joy Butler, sounded like a male to me, its ID is 211153
he is going to send around a police officer to arrest tax defaulters... its number to phone back on is (02) 6060 2058.

Just got a call from this number, a guy with an Indian accent said he's from the Australian Tax Department, threatening legal action. Scared me half to death! But I know if the ATO was to start a legal action again us, they would formally inform us in writing, not by phone call! This is a SCAM!

Our message was to ring a mobile now, 04 something, the Syndney number is now blocked, you can't ring it.

Received a call from this number. Sounded like a scam but they had some relevant and correct information, where they got the info i dont know. Their line was basically agree to pay today or the police will be there within the hour

Yes this number is definably a scam. It is the second call like this I have had in a week. ATO will clarify that you have not been audited.

Received a call from alleged ATO, with ATO fraud activity. I called back to busy call Centre who stated that they are based in Sydney. As soon as I asked for more info, line went dead.
Called back and got hold of same person....... ??? almost never happens in a busy call Centre, and he cut me off again. Deff a scam

Called twice today, left a message then called back. Tax Office doesn't just phone, they send mail to advise you to phone them.

Just got called from the same number threatening with ato name person Steve Morgan, told him to call my accountant as my english isn’t good. My account told me that its scam and that if ato will call you they will send you letters first. So 100% scam

I just had the same message left on answer machine from Jenny Smith at this number!

Message left on answering machine threatening legal action from ATO. Man with Indian accent very hard to understand. Scam - do not call back.

Just got the same threatening message which I could hardly understand, an Indian lady. I rang back and ask the company name - they said "The F--- You Bitch Company" Hope Telstra or ATO does something about this.
