I was left a voicemail saying I had to call the number immediately but I was suspicious. Thank you to everyone for posting about the Scam!

ATO Tax Scam. Voice recording call from "Gary Smith" from the ATO!!

Gary Smith called more like Scam Smith! Scam alert mate! Don't bother calling back

I had the same call from Gary from (02) 9099 1740. Then I rang ATO, they said they been never trying to get hold of me, that's a scammer. So, pls disregard the call.

Same number today and said I have debt due to didn't lodge my tax return probably and asked me to go through with him, I asked him the case number said I'll call back to ATO as I'm not sure it's not a scam. How could they have my name, number and even address?!

Same here too, threatening arrest for - Tax Fraud - robot scam. ATO should get on to this.

I received this voice message asks me calling back to (02) 9099 1740 regarding a tax matter. this voice is from 'Matt'.... scam number.

SCAM! These guys called me today saying that I was going to be arrested for tax fraud and they have been investigating me for several years. Demanded payment or my bank accounts would be frozen. Ridiculous. Don't give them the time of day!!

They then advise you to call them back.
