Received a call from this number and went straight to black list.
Some machine playing back some what sounds like Indian voice.
My system only recorded the end "do not disregard this call, you must call us back."

An Indian guy left a voice message on my mobile claiming to be from the "Australian Tax Office" urging me to call him back urgently. I called him back putting #31# in front of (02) 9099 1676 so that my mobile number was hidden from him. Clearly not from the ATO has he answered within 1-ring saying "Australian Tax Office" - if you've ever called the ATO you know it takes a lot longer than that!

I have received two calls from this number. Both times they were bordering on aggressive in their script and alluded to my "tax fraud". (I am OCD about financial honesty). I've now blocked the number.

Heavily accented perhaps Indian voice left a message saying not to ignore this call and that I must call back regarding a law suit that had been lodged due to tax evasion.

Decided to give them a taste of their own medicine. Called back the number and told them I was calling in regards to Fraudulent Behaviour connected with this number. Him, angry "do the police not have local work to do? Why are you calling overseas with an arrest warrant?" Me: are you confirming that this number is overseas and not actually the australian tax office? Him: I....you....can't arrest me! Him: *hangs up* (I never said I was from the Police department, I never said I was had a warrant. It was satisfying to put the fear into them through their own conclusion jumping though)

Same deal - called a work number and left a message to say I had a tax debt of $12k. That isn't the way the tax office communicates with tax payers.
