same as everyone else, said she was from optus and asked for the business owner. I replied if you are from Optus you should know the business owners name as the bills come addressed to him

Caller: Indian Man saying they are from OPTUS Don't give these people any info they are stating they are from OPTUS wanting to you, so I got technical with them and he couldn't even answer my questions, the Indian man goes ill pass you on to my manager, I knew it was a scam that's that's why I played along with it. I did hang up and blocked the number, and now they are calling back on a private number, my goodness they would try anything.

Called me, my mother and my father all one after another. No one answered so am guessing it was a scam/prank call.

Caller: Mary from Optus Claiming to be from Optus and wanting to set up a meeting the next day to discuss free international calls. Hung up when I started asking which Optus Business Centre she was calling from. Called number back just to be directed to a message bank that doesn't seem to even save a recorded message. Scam.

Asked about my phone services said she was from Optus and then when I pointed out I wasn't an Optus customer promptly retracted the statement. The delay on them speaking suggests an overseas call center.

Caller: Manure? Same as all the others, dodgy telemarketers purporting to be Optus.
They don’t care if you’re currently with Optus or another carrier, the Indian call centres get a fee for simply cold calling and securing an appointment. The sales lead then gets handballed to a local “Optus Business Centre” franchisee who will attend any meeting secured.
We got these calls multiple times a week for months on end. Despite repeated requests to stop they continued. Despite contacting Optus HQ they continued (they will take no responsibility for the actions of resellers or franchisees who use these disgraceful telemarketing methods, even when it tarnishes Optus’s own reputation). In the end I agreed to a meeting... but sent the guy to our old office address, lol. Funnily enough the calls stopped for months after that.
I suggest everyone do the same. Once it becomes unproductive for these guys to be running all over the city for meetings that don’t exist, maybe then they’ll stop engaging in such unscrupulous business methods!

Caller: Scammer pretending to be from Optus These people keep calling multiple times a week and keep telling them we're not interested to stop calling us. But they still call. they have poor English and the phone line quality is horrible. How can people believe they are "really" from Optus if they keep harassing people.

Caller: Optus Business Said he was Calvin from Optus Business - told him we'd changed to another provider within the last week and we wouldn't need his services (actually true!). He then asked who the new company was, I declined to tell him, he reiterated he was calling from Optus Marketing to which I responded "Well exactly" at which point he told me I didn't need to be so rude so I said thankyou, goodbye and hung up on him. Fun for a Friday arvo!
