AMP had a cyber breach, they have some information on customers so they might appear to sound legit because they know your name, email or that you had contacted them regarding super. Recommend that if they do call you that you ask for a name and phone number to call them back on, if they hang up or give you a number different to what is on the AMP website it’s probably a scam.

It is actually a legitimate call / number - just one of their dial-out numbers.
I received a call from them wanting more info after I sent them a Rollover initiation request.
The info they say is necessary is rubbish, but the request is genuine.

Caller type: Call centre

Caller: Sounded like an operator in an Indian call centre

Said she was from AMP, checked my name, said that she was confirming a withdrawal and then hung up. Returning the call just got a series of unusual tones. I was worried because I had not tried to withdraw any money from AMP so I called AMP by the number on their website. Answered by a machine then waited 20 minutes in the queue to find that there were no abnormal transactions... yet (or ever, I hope)

So either someone is trying a scam hoping to catch vulnerable AMP customers, or AMP needs to hire a better call centre.

Missed their call but no message left. When I tried to call the number, I got a strange dial tone. Dodgy!

Caller: Said they were AMP-Super

Said they were calling about my rollover from AMP-Super. First they wanted my full name then my date of birth, stupidly I gave it to them, they already had my email address. Thing is I do have a request to rollover my AMP. I tried to ring back, just a weird sound through the phone. Got on to the internet found AMP-Super phone number, they closed at 7.00pm, since the call came through at 7.40pm I'm pretty sure i've been scammed. Anyhow I guess I should start ring around tomorrow seeing what I can do to minimise any damage to be done.

Caller: AMP?

International person called saying before they can confirm our Super rollover, we must provide Bank Statements showing our account numbers, when I questioned why they dont already have our bank details since they are our Super Fund, they hung up. Very suss. They also called at 7.30pm at night?

Voicemail said something about a withdrawal request. Considering I’m not with AMP I’m not going to call back.
