Caller: AMP I received a call from AMP on this number. I was very suspicious, given the comments on this site. I therefore called them back via their call centre number listed on their website. It turns out that the all was not a scam and they really did want to talk to me. Having said that - always ring them back on the listed number. Never give any details to a random caller folks! Nine times out of ten it will be a scammer!

Caller: Sam The call was from an outsourced AMP representative. Ask me for some basic verification details such as - full name/dob/address/email address. They wanted to double-check to verify my request to transfer/rollover super funds, which I did request through the ATO. Told me to just flick through a copy of my license to askamp @ amp.com.au. It did seem legitimate but after reading through some comments here, I decided to call the local AMP Super number - 13 12 67. Spoke to a local rep who went through the same verification process, and then doubled checked the record of the phone call with the outsourced rep. The local rep sent me through proper documentation via email after our phone call. Yes, the outsourced representative was not as polished, but the number is legit. Hope this helps.

AMP.....(or somebody claiming to be). Male caller had an Indian accent asking an 'overly' lot of security questions and also sending a 'one time text security code'- requiring a response from that text. Caller was very scattered and unpolished at his end, raising doubt to his authenticity. Just contacted AMP to verify if call was genuine....and it seems their security verification and processes are by procedure quite unpolished and intrusive, including verifying 'one time security code' texted, which I had always understood to be not to be relayed to a stranger... End result: I think Genuine AMP......but lacking in professional standards which raises alarm bells.

Was AMP as per the others on this page, as I have just changed some Items in my portfolio. Poor way to do business in this day and age.

Caller: AMP Call from AMP to verify an address change I requested via the form I filled out via the post office when i requested a mail redirection. They do ask quite a few intrusive questions which made me nervous but then they send the the 6 digit pin via the AMP sms service. I believe the call to be genuine.

Strange accented female, looking for my husband at MY workplace. The staff were just able to say NO. I phoned the number back and got different tones and just nothing. Googled phone number and found this blog with info of people ringing to confirm withdrawal request details and a host of other things, they would have known had the call been genuine.
