This number rang my elderly neighbour and it was a Indian guy telling him that he works for "Windows Service Center" and that there was someone hacking into his computer (He doesn't have one!). He then told me about it and I looked it up on the internet and it turns out my gut was right because it's a scam that's been around since 2008!!

Scammers called saying they are working for Microsoft Office and that my computer was being hacked. I knew about this scam so I said I was not buying into this and hung up. They called again saying they are not trying to sell me anything and that somebody was trying to get into my computer. I asked them to give me their location and phone number and I'd call them back. I didn't. I just googled the number to see how many others reported this call. Don't ever give into their speech. Don't ever give any personal or computer details. Maybe even simply say "What computer? I don't have one!" end of the story.
