Seems this scammer is very active at the moment. Same message let on machine as for Amy, Anna & Elizabeth. Did consider ringing ATO but their website suggests hey already know. Real ATO lists the following...... Key indicators of this scam:
Cold calling (unsolicited call) You are advised that there is a warrant for your arrest The callers use an aggressive tone You are asked to make a payment without having received any prior advice or correspondence from the ATO The return phone number is a NSW number rather than a national 1300 number.

Same garbage call. These calls happen coincidentally always after my husband has downloaded something malware-ish off the internet in error. He has Parkinson's and cognitive difficulties. Must be connected somehow on how the malware harvests phone numbers. Name given was Jason O'Connor - warrant for arrest etc. They must be absolutely stupid.

Threatening to call the police will not do anything. Just hang up. Grow up.

The call is a scam. Indian accent suggesting a 'loss evasion' to do with the ATO. That the Commonwealth in my territory was involved and that the police in my local jurisdiction would be involved with an arrest warrant. Called back on the weekend and it went to a non-descript answering service. The number offered was (02) 9037 8331

Got this call left on my answering machine saying it was from the ATO (Indian)stating someone as he stated no name would be arrested for tax evasion and that someone needs to call him back on the above number. What are they getting out of this ??? Seriously!

Wasn't home, but they had the audacity to leave a message with this phone number. First he said that I was going to be sued for tax evasion or fraud, that that the local police would come and arrest me. He closed off the call by wishing me a good day!
