This is a number provided by an organisation that claims to be "E-Tech" and they want to help me eradicate some very nasty viruses from my PC. They want to do this by taking full control of my PC remotely and "making it easy for me". Clearly, they are in a call centre in India (accent, background noise, willingness to engage at only later times of day, approach, etc).

My mum got a call from an Asian guy saying he was from Microsoft, claiming they've received lots of complaints that her PC is spreading viruses to other PCs. He told her to follow his instructions to fix her PC. She was sceptical, and didn't want to do so. She wanted to check the legitimacy of the call, so he said to call (02) 9037 4280 and ask for his manager, Alice. Sounds like a scam to me.

My mother in law got a call from these dirt bags saying there was a problem with windows. Lucky I was there at the time and told her not to turn her computer on and enter the code they provided.

Unsolicitated scam call: Caller by the name of Cathy (Indian accent) & technician Vincent Sharp called and try to pull a scam by faking as someone from window service center Melbourne, noticing some malicious software downloaded by my browser into my computer, very agressive and insisting to make me pay $319. Later on Cathy reduced their price for fixing my computer, untivirous and life time service to my computer for a total of $129. They went into my computer and where using, its was a very scary experience. I told them I will call back if I am interested. Today they called back twice. I am scared to turn my computer on or even answer to my land line.
