I am surprised people still try this ATO scam. I received a similar message approx 8 months ago and ignored it. This time it was a female voice claiming to be Jenifer Smith with an non english speaking accent (and very obvious clue it was not legit). Tax office does not operate this way. You would receive mail and legal action would be the last resort

Got a call from these clowns on Monday July 4th. Claiming to be Jennifer Smith with a thick Indian accent. Sure lady. Claims that an arrest warrant has been issued for Tax Fraud and requiring additional information with a request to call back this number. Threats associated with a warning not to ignore this otherwise legal action will be taken yada yada yada. These scum should be wiped off the face of the earth but to be fair they are probably being forced to make these calls on behalf of some other criminal element.

These callers have nothing better to do but prey on people who are easily led to think that something horrible has been a miss. They are shameless. Ignore these calls, these people are a waste of space on earth.

These indian tossers left an abusive phone message threatening legal action and terriyfing my wife. After numerous attempts I finally got through and it sounded like I was in a indian market place with a thousand voices all chattering away like monkeys. When I asked to whom was i speaking I was told to F^&k off. I rang back and got another mukerjee chai wallah who told me he was the Australian Tax office I said it was a bit noisy for a tax office and was told to F&^k off . This number belongs to Telstra call centre. No wonder we get no service from telstra if this is the calibre of people they employ

I was very sceptical about the message left on our answering machine, good thing I was able to confirm that this is a scam number online with so many reports. I hope not to many people are buying it, concerned for vulnerable people...

Jennifer Smith with her veiled threats of legal action and then wishes you a blessed day. Hopefully legal action will be taken against her seeing as I've reported her for harassment.

Had three of these calls on message bank yesterday (02) 9037 3808 and a fourth one today but a different number left - (02) 6698 4041 which does not yet have any complaints against it.

Unbelievable! How are they allowed to get away with it! Sister received a similar call this afternoon - do they think we are that stupid.

I received a phone call from (02) 9037 3808 it's a scam, do not reply, it's not the ATO
there after your hard earned money let them do honest work for their money.

Scam - message left on answering machine saying we owed back taxes to ATO and to call them back or face legal action and hard consequences. I rang them back with the intention of telling them that I was referring them to the Federal Police but the call rang out.

Got a similar message and passed the info to the Tax Office.

The caller claiming to call re: a taxation office 'legal law suit', only left a 'threatening message', didn't identify who they wish to speak with, or leave their name or a reference to return the call with...definite scam...

Called (02) 9037 3808 - no answer and the message said that the message bank couldn't accept any more messages.
Probably people calling to tell them to go forth and multiply...

A threatening message was left on my mum's answering machine. Luckily I was there to listen to the rubbish they said. Hope people don't fall for this... ATO... Warrant for arrest, Tax fraud. The ATO would never operate like this.

No name, just a message on my machine from an Indian accented woman telling me the ATO has legal action against me for fraud. I just got my 2014 refund so guess it's just bullsh*t, but just the same, it's very threatening.

We had a very threatening message regarding bad taxes left by Jennifer Smith. Claiming that she had to be called back or we would face legal action and possible arrest. Though she didn't specify who exactly would face these consequences. It immediately sounded like a scam. My husband attempted several times to call back, and eventually got through. Apparently they were looking for someone else....or maybe it was because they could hear me saying 'it's a scam' repeatedly in the background. It's appalling that scammers can still do this, I feel sorry for all those that do get scammed. And it makes a mockery of the do not call register.
