Said they were from Microsoft and insisted my computer was infected etc. I spoke to a woman then when she was finding my questions too hard she put me on to a guy. I played him along for a while insisting he tell me where I was located he guessed wrong and hung up. They both sounded Indian.

Thanks to all for the information and advice. Got a message - You are a winner. Knew it had to have some hidden pitfalls.

Just about got hooked in, via email from EFF newsletter. Answered a survey question, "won" the trip, called this number and went thru the spiel...was put through to another person for a "customer number" and was pressured to pay the $898.00 on the spot. Disconnected the call.

got the message on my screen and straight away i could tell it was a scam. You know they teach how to spot a scam in commerce in Yr 9? They should be teaching all the kids so less people get ripped off! Very obviously a scam and the pressuring, time limit, graphics, phone call, entering details, the offer itself all prove it even more. If something is too good to be true then it probably is.

Message came up on screen while playing internet Blackjack that I was the 1 millionth person to play blackjack and said I had won a $3000 travel voucher to Orlando. I contacted the number and the first person I spoke to was very nice advising me of the package - apparently a time share arrangement. Turns out the whole package was $3889 of which I had to pay $889 - not including flights to America from Australia. Was then put on to a very abrupt male who apparently was very trained in pressuring and belittling people who told me I needed to make the decision immediately. Told him could not make decision immediately as it was 1:45am in Australia and wanted to discuss with my family. He went on to abuse me saying "the word yes was easy and no was prejudice" - replied that I didn't understand him - he kept beratting me about my prejudice and as this was a 1 day offer needed to tell him my decision now!! I said this was winning a prize and wondering why a prize had such conditions on it. He just kept repeating to me ÿou can make the decision now, you are just being prejudiced - I did thank him for his time and just disconnected in the end. So..don't be an idiot and contact like I did expecting something legit!!!

Hi! I did not received the call. A received an email to my photobucket stating I won $3000 Travel shopping spree. It says ring Sydney (02) 9037 2183. I called many times but disconnected. Try again and was put through. She stated her name as AMBER GREEN and gave information about going to ORLANDO, BAHAMAS, DAYTONA BEACH for 4 travellers. I asked her 'WHAT'S THE CATCH?", she said no catch. When we get to the point and ask me click ITENERARY, The cost of the holiday is $3898,00 so i still have to pay $898 right then and there with credit card. I told her can I pay when we do the booking, she said "NO". She is nice but very persistent to let me pay so I decided to type in the number on google and while on the phone with her, I was reading the message of CHERYL MCGEE and that's when I hang up the phone. She said once I hang up, I will missed the offer. But guess what, they called back but did not answer the phone. Thanks for this. It is very helpful otherwise I just lost my money. LOL. By the way, they are FROM PREFERRED GUEST RESORTS and AMBER confirms that they are not scam. They are REAL. I wont get hooked again. There is no such thing as FREE.
