Started off saying I was shortlisted to win an iPhone 10 (which I may be wrong, but I don’t think it exists?) then wanted to discuss my electricity plan. Kept saying I wasn’t interested, was persistent, I refused to give any details and blocked the number

Lady said I had entered an online competition a couple of months ago to win a Samsung 9. She asked to confirm my details as I had been successful and won an iPhone 10. When I questioned her on the different prize and what company she was from she hung up.

I receive a number of telemarketing callsl. I believe this to be another one. I did not risk answering the call, and did not call back.

Lady said I was “shortlisted to win an iPhone 10”. Said I’d entered a competition and that I might be getting a call next week to tell me I’d won. I said to her “so you’re calling me to tell me that I entered a competition and that I haven’t won yet?”
I asked her for the competition permit number and she hung up on me

Called back the number and it say it was disconnected?
Obviously a telemarketer

I just want to say thanks to those of you who left a reply on this number. It's from another state. I have now blocked it too after reading your comments. I appreciate any information on unsolicited calls. Especially when my number is on the Do NOT CALL. Register.

Agreed. This number does not allow you to call back, suggesting it might be tele-marketers. Regardless, these types of numbers should be banned. It is such an easy way for companies, particularly fraudsters and marketers to avoid you, yet when you return the call out of courtesy and cannot ring through, then see your call and call you back and so on, it goes.

This number called and said that I am in the running to win Iphone X and asked me to verify my details.... SCAM

I answered the called and then it got disconnected.

This guy would not be specific about what company he was from but insisted that I could win something. I told him i wasn’t interested and he became angry. I hung up but called the number back only to get “the number you have called is not connected. Please check the number and call again”
