Vodafone Australia is aware of a phishing scam targeting some of our customers posing as our retail stores or Customer Care.
The fraudsters are using a tactic known as spoofing to hide the number they are calling from and make it appear to be from one of our retail stores’ legitimate numbers or our Customer Care number which may show as 'Vodafone Care' when a call is received. The callers will make various threats in return for immediate credit card payments, large sum bank transfers or personal information. Several variations of this scam have been identified

This number called yesterday as well and left no messge when I did not answer. Today I answered the call and there was no response on the line at all. Calling at very odd times, late Friday night and then late on Saturday afternoon. Certainly seems to be some kind of Scam caller. I've blocked the number now.

Caller: Business Vodafone - spoofed called using their number SCAM Called to a number on my business account that had no say about the account, they offered a deal and as I was explaining that something was off, they Sent a text message to, the phone to prove they were Vodafone. The style isn’t the same as true Vodafone uses. They were not - they wanted information of the phone holder, phone holder recently had other accounts hacked. Watch out when answering this number. I suggested you call back to get true Vodafone- don’t give out any information!
