Caller: Scammy Vodafone Vodafone seems to be employing a scammy call centre who spoof this number and try to engage 'marketing' of plans under false pretenses to acquire credit card information. Vodafone is employing a call centre in India who are known scammers it would seem. It seems their call centre are selling off customer data to allow private calls outside of direct contact with Vodafone, i.e. some scammer can try and steal your money because Vodafone has poor quality controls in their call centre. Be careful and at high alert when dealing with calls from this number and with the way Vodafone Australia seems to be contracting its call centre with risk to loss of personal data safety and protection potentially against the Privacy Act 1988. This should be investigated.

I received this number more than once and as I didn't recognise it I kept deleting it after they persisted for about four or five days I thought I would listen to the message they left. It was Vodaphone but as I listened the caller identified as and officer investigating a complaint which I had made recently and they identified who they were with. This matched exactly with what I knew. Apparently Internode is currently using Vodaphone. It has to do with the amalgamation with iinet and TPG .

Caller: Vodafone Not a scam. It is Vodaphone.
Applied for a phone plan and its their number, so definitely not a scam.
Only thing annoying thing with them is, it was rejected from a credit check and they told me to get a family member to do it instead! Safe to say I didn't and I went with Optus instead!

Caller: Vodafone In my case, this was a legitimate call from Vodafone. A man with an Indian accent called from this number about my Internet service and an available upgrade. He was polite and sent a SMS to my mobile which matched Vodafone's number. It all seemed legitimate, but I was wary. Shortly after the call, I received appropriate emails from Vodafone’s legitimate address that contained information that a scammer would not know. In addition, the upgrade offer was completely in line with Vodafone’s published offers and is appropriate to my area.
