I too am getting harassed by these people claiming to be from Market Opinions Research Australia. Just had a call now and asked to speak to a supervisor. No response. I told them if they call again I will lodge an official complaint to the ombudsman and demanded they take my number off their list. I know it will do no good! can anyone suggest another way to stop these calls. I know they are scams!

Have had this number call me every day saying they are a brand testing company and that they want to send me samples to test and give opinion. Definitely calling from overseas, guy has an Asian-American accent, and silence when you first answer. Guessing it's a scam or the like

Just got a call from this number, they are pretending to be from Windows and that you have malware etc on your computer and want you to go to the computer so they can help fix the problem. Next thing you'll have another problem and then they'll sell you the solution. Scam Scam Scam

Possible (02) 8999 0931 part of crime network. You answer, that's all they perhaps need to know. I am perhaps paranoid - but I did get a real bad experience 15 years ago, where a criminal middle eastern network operating in Australia tried setting me up as a computer criminal. I found out later they were ripping off many company computer systems / syndicates also had full access to our major telecommunications systems - hence, still 15 years later, I do get paranoid. Our law enforcement are yet to do anything about these people (at least nothing in our newspapers in the last 15 years)... hope they are actually trying to do something. Could just be some annoying call centre - but why would they just hang up.....

I have experienced all of the comments every-one here has made before me. All the different bullsh*t names and excuses to get our info. I tried being polite...waste of time........tried threats of reporting them.........waste of time.......tried and ENJOYED using every dirty word and name I could think of them and their nationality.........not entirely a waste of time because I REALLY enjoyed telling them what they are,,, but I still get calls.............So now when they call, I act particularly interested, but could they hold a minute so I can turn off the TV or oven or fetch my wallet (Ha, I had a guy on the phone 20 minutes waiting for that one) ..........then put the phone down and forget it......... most of the time they hold a while then go....... The calls still happen but not so often........Now I enjoy wasting their time.

Hi Ivan. Unlike the US we have no federal offence of "wire fraud" which would enable and oblige the Australian Federal Police to investigate and, if possible, prosecute somebody for this. What can we do about this? We have to harass our local federal member of parliament until they make it an offence.

Be polite. If you abuse them, some of them call you hundreds of times at all hours. Just say "No thank you, I am busy now, I don't want to reveal my email address, goodbye" then hang up

Kept ringing. Racked up 4 unanswered calls. When I picked up they claimed to be from Windows and they needed to fix my computer. I told them they were scammers and that I'd call the AFP. They haven't called back since.
