Calls from this number weekly, went to westpac branch and they don't know anything about it, scam they think!

I get a call every day from this number. This is my work phone, and whoever is calling hangs up on me....I have an iPhone and have created a silent ring-tone so I can ignore it.

I just had a missed call from them. No message left. Was wondering who it might have been, so googled the number and found this thread.

had one today, hbos bank. even knows my name. why? don't even bank with them

They called today and I missed the call. Thanks to looking it up before I called- I won't be returning the call or picking it up.

Caller said that they were calling from St George to offer me a "special deal" on life insurance policy, and started to ask for highly sensitive information, including account number.

Called the number back, says they are from Sykes working on behalf of Westpac, and provided the actual Sykes number 1300 731 384, to discontinue similar calls and promotions.

I called St George, and they noted that it did not sound legitimate.

have been getting missed calls on my mobile from the above number..When I spoke to someone the other day they said they were calling me on behalf of Westpac and were trying to talk me into life insurance. I said I wasn't interested. He then asked me "why"?
I said look I am not interested. He then hung up!
I then rang Westpac this morning and they know nothing about this?? they said it was a scam!!!

Called me today and yesterday.First time I ignored but no voice mail left. Second time I answered and caller immediately hung up. Recommend you don't answer with your name.

I got a call from this number saying they were from St George, Their game is to get your personal details. . I just spent an hour on the phone with St George security reporting the scam. If you get a call from this number or (02) 8973 0800 report it to your bank
